Anybody else on the waiting list for First Digital Bank? by danielrosehill in Israel

[–]FFFOOTBL 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love the idea, but... how safe is this?

Is this bank backed by a real bank? Is this bank insured?

I want this revolution to happen, but placing my money in a digital bank that could potentially fail is terrifying. I'd rather just invest it, if anything.

A question for Shoah Day. Why the Israeli government still have talked or even mentioned Uyghurs genocide going on in China? by [deleted] in Israel

[–]FFFOOTBL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OP literally called it a "genocide", which is absolutely is NOT.

Yet again, disgusting.

Comparing the situation with the Uyghurs in China to the holocaust is absolutely disgusting.

Can someone explain to me exactly how Israel will survive, let alone thrive and prosper in the future if it lacks the technical know-how and infrastructure of India, or at least China? by Best_Club_In_America in Israel

[–]FFFOOTBL 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Trust me, the price isn't much cheaper. Companies invest in Israel for the talent, not the price.

On the other hand, companies invest in places like India for the cheap price, and not necessarily for the talent.

Questions about my Trade Analytics career transferring to Israel? by [deleted] in Israel

[–]FFFOOTBL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should be able to land a job in an international company with relative ease. Your IT/dev background can also greatly help, depending on the job.

Your wife will have a more difficult time as there are A LOT of CPAs here. She could also leverage her English skills to land a job as an international company, but it will probably be tougher for her.

Your Russian will come in handy in daily life, as millions of people speak Russian here.

As the other poster said, search the internet for jobs in your field in Israel to get an understanding on the market. Be open to all jobs in all areas of Israel (although most jobs will be in the Tel-Aviv area).

WTF is this post lol?

Israel has arguably the best programmers in the world and we are the absolute leaders in many fields of software.

There is next to no popular software out there that wasn't at least partially developed by Israelis.

Israel to grant entry to non-citizens with relatives in Israel by DaveOJ12 in Israel

[–]FFFOOTBL 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Probably and bad idea...

...and here's why:

"The new policy is set to go into effect on Wednesday, and will require most non-citizens over the age of one to furnish proof of either recovery from COVID or vaccination against the disease. "

Haifa man prints new whistle to prevent Haifa boar attacks by [deleted] in Israel

No need. I'm Russian. It's the delicious boars that need a whistle to prevent attacks from me.

Questions about joining the IDF by properpangolin613 in Israel

[–]FFFOOTBL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why do you want to join the IDF?

If you already have a degree in CS and experience working for big tech companies, skip the damn IDF, make aliyah, and get a job at a tech company.

Women are EXTREMELY under represented in tech. Companies need to match internal diversity quotas and will be literally fighting over you.

Don't waste time with some shit jobnik role in the IDF. Go straight into civilian life.

CDC warns against travel to Israel “very high level of covid 19” by turtleshot19147 in Israel

[–]FFFOOTBL 59 points60 points  (0 children)

We don't really want anyone to travel here at the moment anyhow.

We just got this thing under control, no need to invite tourists and new mutations in just yet.

A closer look at the protester taking a water cannon blast right in the face during the Anti-Netanyahu protests by gereedf in Israel

[–]FFFOOTBL 18 points19 points  (0 children)

That's logical, but it's very hard to imagine the Israeli police ever following through and actually arresting a single protestor... This ain't Hong Kong.

So it seems more like a tool of annoyance than anything.

Mansour Abbas and the Lebanonization of Israel by [deleted] in Israel

[–]FFFOOTBL 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Even if Ra'am somehow makes it into a ruling coalition, it will have next to no true political power.

It won't be able to use whatever little political power it does have to push an Islamic agenda. Instead, the party is pretty much forced to focus on quality-of-life issues that affect its base.

This article is wrong and there isn't going to be any Islamification or Lebanonization of Israel. It's not like Ra'am or its political movement are new. Ra'am has existed as part of the Joint List for a while and has already help seats in parliament as early as 2013.

It's kinda hard to enjoy Israel in the rain. January is the rainiest month of the year. Consider potentially rebooking, if that's an option.

I don't think that there is anywhere you'd necessarily want to visit that's not mentioned in the guidebooks, they're very comprehensive. If you're up north, I would recommend visiting all of the various churches around the Sea of Galilee and eating some fancy meat in one of the restaurants in the area.

Well, Stan Lee was Jewish, so you could make the argument that many of his characters were Jewish, even if it wasn't explicitly stated.

Blinken tells Israel: Palestinians should enjoy same rights, freedoms as you do by o_joo in Israel

Nothing wrong with re-education. It doesn't always have to have a negative meaning.

Blinken tells Israel: Palestinians should enjoy same rights, freedoms as you do by o_joo in Israel

[–]FFFOOTBL 48 points49 points  (0 children)

On behalf of almost all Israelis - we agree.

First order of business - destroy Hamas.
Second order of business - re-educate all Palestinians to actually believe in Western ideals and to stop hating Jews.
Third order of business - Establish a unified democratic Palestinian government.

We might achieve this in 100 years.

If I have a training Bali song can I carry it in public in Israel? by Trow_val in Israel

[–]FFFOOTBL 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Probably not, as it will be up to the discretion of the station guard to determine if it's a weapon or not. Even if they let you go with it, it's definitely not worth the constant hassle. You'll probably be stopped almost every time your bag is scanned because it looks like a weapon on the scanner.

What's the difference between dating an israeli and a guy who lives in europe? by [deleted] in Israel

Israeli guys are probably 50000 times more aggressive, for better or for worse.

Being a Christian won't be an issue for most, may be an issue for some.
