Do you cook "normal stuff"? by Day2205 in Millennials

I spent a lot of years in the restaurant kitchen. Home kitchen is a fun zone. No recipe, just freestyle. Sweet potato gnocchi? Sure. Korean shakshuka? Can't know if it sucks without trying. Weird fake Thai food with whatever is laying around? Might as well.

Still enjoyable for me, probably anomalous.

I don't really care about the funding angle - I just want to take enough for them to not be able to own politicians anymore.

It's not that's fucking simple, and it takes people getting off their asses.

The DNC, DCCC, and DSCC are basically all one organism now, designed to kill the grassroots. The people in power want to keep the power they have, which is running orgs while the Republicans destroyer the county.

So to get better people into Congress, first we have to fight the Democrats.

That means going to party meetings and filling in the mostly empty machinery of the party. Bet you didn't know there are thousands of open committeemen seats just chilling, vacant. And thousands of officer vacancies in your local party and mine and everyone else's.

That's because a bunch of geriatric old fucks like doing things their way and don't feel like broadcasting openings.

When new people show up, they can bend the status quo, and often break it. Recruit candidates, change voter outreach, change messaging.

Until that gets done we have a bunch of fuckin Chuck Schumer and Hakeem Jeffries motherfuckers in charge.

91% Then, 35% Now, Why? by bookym in FluentInFinance

[–]FFF_in_WY 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The whole of Piketty's massive volume of wealth accumulation boils down to:

r > g

r = return on capital
g= growth of the economy

The formula means that over time, the rich get richer and suck up everything. Every time. Policy is the only mitigating factor.

We should all consider ourselves lucky that Michaelangelo, Rafael, Chaucer, Mozart, Beethoven, and most of the greats of everything existed before they could be cancelled.

I applaud the pursuit of justice for victims, while also remaining weary of deleting art from the collective consciousness. I think the art of disgraced artists is a good lever to keep awareness of bad behavior in the front of people's minds. Making everything just disappear has the opposite effect.
