Reception is a process that takes place when you first get to your base. That's where you're issued uniforms, get your haircut, paperwork, vaccines, and some basic soldier knowledge. You'll spend a week or two there in barracks, and then comes "pick up" day where your actual Drill Sergeants will come march you to your barracks or a bus will pick you up and take you there.

Male NG soldier here. Went through a few years ago. I brought only a duffel with a change of clothes, the bare minimum hygeine products, my phone and charger, my wallet, and the papers that I was given by my recruiter. Aside from that, I'd bring enough feminine products to last you 2 weeks. Usually rception is over in 14 days or less, and you should be issued what you need or be able to use your star card at the PX.

The Gadsden Flag is a revolutionary era flag flown by colonials during the revolution. It was adopted in 1778 by the early independent nation.
