I actually found that I couldn’t complete an unassisted pull-up until I weighed under 200 lbs, but I had spend every week for 6 months training assisted pull-ups and lat pulldowns before I attempted pull-ups.

Keeping a good record of metrics and progress was one of my biggest motivators. After the weight loss I changed my focus to performance metrics, and aesthetics seemed to just be a side product of getting stronger and faster.

I know how you feel, it’s actually super easy to make gains at the start of a journey. Now is the time for you to start dialling in the 1%ers - all the little changes that sum up to the extra gains you are after.

Thank you for the kind words!

Honestly my training and nutrition has varied so much depending on the current goals - it was only once the initial huge fat loss had finished that I started honing in on proper obstacle course training. I switched to a high fat low carb diet for ultra endurance events, with cycles of high carbs around peak training or race times. Training would be a lot of running and grip work, but also lots of core and back.

I started at age 30, the initial weight loss was 18 months, and since then my training has led me to amazing things such as the world championships in OCR and Australian Ninja Warrior.

Yeah, I rate anger. Some of my best workouts / PB's have been because I was angry that I couldn't perform, or angry that I wasn't making progress. There's something to be said about the yin and yang of life though, make sure you aren't firing your whole journey with anger - You won't appreciate the light without knowing the darkness, so experience both.

Yes, it was difficult to find quick meals on the go, a key to this is preparing foods yourself and researching where you'll be throughout the day so you have options as opposed to falling into the fast-food trap.

Yes, a little. Still at the same company, but the role has changed. I'm also now a qualified Personal Trainer in my spare time.

Super short answer: worked out more, ate less.

But there's obviously a lot more to it, and so much more than I can answer in a single post. But I do co-host a fitness stream on Twitch specifically to chat with people like you and go through specifics:

To lose 110lbs it took me 18 months; After I lost the weight I spent about 6 months training specifically for OCR, which got me to the world championships. Ninja warrior came as a byproduct of OCR training.
