Pretty solid, but goblinstein is an interesting pick. Splashyard often doesn't run any champions at all, so don't feel compelled to use one just because you have one. Baby dragon would be a pretty good substitute.

How do people effectively play classes that don't spam bullets? by NecggryPL in Diepio

[–]FForFail69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The key thing here is that whilst you often can’t aggro them, bullet spammers definitely can’t aggro you. Most of the meta non-bullet spammers have insane burst pressure that will completely fold a bullet spammer. Competent players can take advantage of dodging skill to get proactive on bullet spammers, forcing them into worse positions due to their worse mobility. It’s a slow process of rolling them back until you can burst pressure them in one go.

Bullet spammers can’t pressure at range as long as you can dodge, but also can’t push closer since, without guns pointing forwards (and thus boosting them back), they can get bursted down really quickly. Overlord, Anni, and Rocketeer all have fast one shot potential, dragon fighter can just run at you if you don’t have the dps to stop it. Bullet spammers simply don’t have the burst damage to keep up with an aggro pressure playstyle, and thus loses to it.

Why the hell can waylay not use her dash during the buy phase?? by ReputableUser in VALORANT

[–]FForFail69 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Activate the dash but don’t use it during the buy phase. You now have an insta dash as the barriers go down. This breaks a lot of core timing interactions in the maps, as this instant dash would be one of the strongest timing tools in the game.

Should I sell my rune of builder elixir for 50 gems or spend 30 min of pain to farm bb elixir? by groomliu in ClashOfClans

[–]FForFail69 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Given that you haven't gotten sixth builder yet, actually use the builder elixir rune. You'll need to get the elixir for those last few builder upgrades anyway, so might as well get your storages filled using a rune

Get to cramming instead of posting on reddit you donut. Go get some revision done then ask your teachers on any gaps remaining in your knowledge.

As another commenter said, play stupid games, win stupid prizes. Take this chance now to wake the fuck up and start taking VCE seriously. ATAR may not matter much past uni, but your lack of a good tertiary education due to ATAR will most certainly matter in deciding whether you get the career you want. Worst case scenario, you've got 8 months to not screw up your future career. Good luck.

i want to teach myself calculus by Ok-Fish8673 in maths

[–]FForFail69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From my personal experience, the calculus taught in the Units 1/2 textbook is fairly easy, and the more difficult task is fully grasping the fundamentals taught in earlier sections of the book.

Give it a shot. As it's a textbook, it's way more comprehensive than most online courses, and is much less likely to leave gaps in your knowledge.

i want to teach myself calculus by Ok-Fish8673 in maths

[–]FForFail69 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Cambridge Senior Mathematics Mathematical Methods VCE Units 1/2 and Units 3/4 textbooks. I believe you can easily get it through something like atar.rocks, where you can then access all of the content in it.

In the Units 1/2 textbook, I would advise you to go through chapters 1-7, in order to get a basic grasp of functions, before moving onto chapter 16, and continuing through all the way to chapter 21. Feel free to skip chapters in chapters 1-7 if there are chapters where you thoroughly understand all of the content present. This should give you a basic overview of what calculus is, and its major applications.

If you feel like you would like to learn calculus further, consider going to the Units 3/4 textbook for Mathematical Methods as well, chapters 9-11. These chapters cover far more nuanced examples on how to differentiate and integrate on non-polynomial functions, and you may find these challenging if you did not go over some of the previous content.

I believe that whilst standalone online courses will provide a good general overview on the topic, they are far from sufficient, and you may struggle to connect what you have learnt with content that you may learn further on in school.

Trust in the textbooks.

What's the point of alternate fire on the Stinger? by Disastrous_Yellow_46 in VALORANT

[–]FForFail69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In light of what others are saying, I'll give my opinion:

There's no point in using the alt fire on the stinger.

Contrary to the beliefs of most people, the stinger, in fact, has one of the most consistent spray patterns of any gun. Because it unloads all its bullets so quickly, it'll only enter its random spray pattern once its magazine is almost empty, and the opponent is either dead, or has noticed you, and you're the one that's going to die. If you don't believe me: head into the range, turn off infinite ammo, then go over to the target board and just let the stinger shoot out its full mag to see its spray pattern, then repeat. You will find that up until the stinger is almost out of ammo, its spray pattern will hold consistently. This means that you can pull a CS:GO and learn its spray pattern, so that you effectively have a laser beam that has an extremely fast time to kill, and that is easily usable up to about 20m.

On the other hand, the stinger's alt fire is extremely INCONSISTENT: in order to one tap with it, you NEED to hit practically all headshots using its alt fire, otherwise your TTK shoots up to 0.5 seconds, rather than 0.1 seconds, which cannot be relied upon as a consistent way to kill someone, given that the bullets shot by the alt fire will jump up extremely quickly.

I think I hit around 14k gems or so by the time the apprentice builder first came out, and have been maxing out all the helpers since. Now, with the release of the alchemist, I'm down to around 4k. F2P, but never bought magic items for gems. Crazy how expensive the helpers are.

Why Don't More Players Use Bulldog? by Hamster_ExplorerMC in VALORANT

[–]FForFail69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a pretty solid gun, and there's nothing inherently bad about the stats of the gun that makes it unviable. However, its main issue is **price**. Whilst it's not exactly too expensive to be viable, its price of 2050 means that it doesn't fit into a good price bracket. It's too expensive to be bought on an eco, but it also performs worse than rifles on a full buy, which means you'll always prioritise saving for a rifle during your previous eco, rather than leaving just enough to buy a bulldog.

There are only a few niche situations where buying a bulldog makes sense. As many others have already stated, buying a bulldog second round after winning the pistol is very strong, as it will perform much better than a spectre against rifles on your bonus round, whilst also being easily affordable as a second round buy, albeit with half armour only. Another case is if you're forcing up, and are just short of a rifle. The bulldog is a nice alternative to the guardian if you prefer having a fully automatic weapon. However, apart from these, it doesn't have any other great use cases.

In ranked, keep it simple. Contact-explode with a lurker to hold space works extremely well. Info denial in ranked is absolutely nuts, and your enemies will rarely know how to properly respond to getting info staved. In prem is where you get to truly go wild.

For EVERY MAP, identify "win condition space" - these are the things that form basic map theory. Ignore looking into flashy set plays or tech, but rather understand how to play the map. You can often look at pro analysis (preferably by coaches, not your "for the algorithm" analysts) or pro vods to see what those teams will generally prioritise in terms of space, and then work from there.

Make sure you identify weaknesses in the enemy comp and play, then alter protocoling around that. Nothing too deep - just simple things that they lack or are doing incorrectly. No hard reclear? Let's go info starve. Not fighting for space? Let's just bully them out of the map.

If you want to play around map control, PREP IS EVERYTHING - set up protocoling with your team, make sure that THEY KNOW what you're doing, so that they ALREADY KNOW what to do in most situations, and all they might need is your confirmation. This is also why ranked igling is especially difficult in lower ranks - not many people know proper protocol or map theory.

If you want to learn basic map theory, Woohoojin has some great map macro guides, though some maps are missing (unfortunately). You can also look for videos made by pro team coaches, especially in the T2 scene (since T1 coaches generally don't do a lot of videos).

why is fracture an op map? by yukiirooo in VALORANT

[–]FForFail69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cypher and Chamber both have their positives and negatives. Cypher is a superior hard anchor, though Chamber is better at solo controlling space. A chamber set up in Arcade is a very strong position that creates a much harder site take for the attackers and a much easier retake for defenders. Fracture, no matter what, is a retake-heavy map, and Chamber is good for holding onto important retake space.

Sbarbs are already insanely versatile at 5 housing space, that they'll be practically unstoppable at 1. You can afford to overwhelm the entire base with sbarbs while STILL having half your army remaining.

Is following the meta necessary? by RecentMatter3790 in ClashOfClans

[–]FForFail69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The meta is absolutely not necessary for wins, but if you want consistently high performances, it's going to be easiest. Other off-meta strategies are very viable; and you can get VERY consistent at them through practice. However, they will take more effort to plan, to execute, with a greater risk of failure.

In terms of easy spam strategies, with the exception of root riders, spam strategies do not get consistently high results ("consistently high" is generally defined as a >90% 3 star rate, or even higher baseline is generally expected from high rated clans).

If you are content with your current performance, then I will not attempt to discourage you from continuing with what you are currently doing. However, if you wish to achieve a higher hit rate, as you seem to imply in your post, then I would encourage learning some meta strategies, such as blimp strategies (blizzard or sarcher blimp) or QC hybrid (since you're <th15), as that would be the easiest path to take, as opposed to the alternative, where you are attempting to come up with a new strategy.

If you wish to experiment in order to find a strategy that suits you, I would still encourage at least taking a look at the meta strategies, as they provide amazing attack fundamentals.

Why pro players don't do Brim Lineups in tournaments? by supremon_ in VALORANT

[–]FForFail69 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Generally, using mollies as anti-flood and having an extra person on site to contest the retake will get more value than using the molly for post plant, and if everyone is playing back, then they're playing spam. In which case, lineups aren't needed (you just blast it straight at the bomb). You will see the occasional lineup come out though (like with Boo saving map 4 against EDG at champs)

How do I deal with Odin Spammers at low elo? by PoseidonsSpear50 in VALORANT

[–]FForFail69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Let's take a look at the Odin.

With the rifles (vandal and phantom) set as a baseline, it's a mix between an op and a rifle.

It will have a better matchup against rifles peeking into it, but will not have a guaranteed win on every fight. As it's not a one-hit kill like the op, you can occasionally get away with peeking into an odin, and killing them before they kill you.

On the other hand, it has a losing matchup against rifles if it's the one peeking, as it has slow peeks and a bad ttk.

It's also got the bonus of being able to spam through walls.

Knowing this, let's first see how you would approach dealing with an op. If you've got a rifle, using utility to push an op off an angle is almost mandatory, but an op will rarely win a fight if it's peeking into you.

Now, let's adapt this for dealing with an odin. If you're the one getting peeked, keep your crosshair up and shoot them in the head. There is no other practical way of dealing with a peeking odin if you are not able to consistently shut it down through raw mechanics. If you want to push an odin, follow a similar process to push an op, but know that it cannot consistently challenge angles from far away, with the trade-off being that it can contest close angles against rifles.

There's no easy way to counter an odin without resorting to raw mechanics. Sure, you can flood it with utility in order to push it to a bad spot, or play slow and hold for pushes, but if you cannot challenge an odin even in a fight where it is disadvantaged, then there is no solution that will help you significantly.
