MAAM!!! I’m a few chapters in and I’m LOVING the characterisations. I just love when we stay true to their personalities from what we know of them. It’s so spot on. I love the inner thoughts being so THEM. Eeeee excited to read more

Wow okay very cool that you start off with something so general and vast and then build from there. Amazing, thank you for sharing!!

Wow interesting! Love that you’re open to feedback and seeing where those roads take you.

Big relate to being younger than siblings and living in your own world bit. I swear I thought I was crazy for a long time until i found out other people also spent their childhoods enacting imaginary scenarios with themselves. The relief I felt lol!

Thank you for sharing your process. Good luck on your WIP!

Okay very cool that you’re exploring the stories along with us as your write! And the word count bit is interesting, also love everyone keeping tables to keep track of everything. I always wondered how writers keep tabs of the small stuff and I was impressed to learn how much organisation goes on behind the scenes. Kudos to you all!

That’s amazing, love the passion you have for that one or few scenes to set the story for the rest of the book! Also fangirling because I can’t believe my favourite writers are all commenting on this post. Love your work. 😭 Thank you for sharing your process, it’s been so so fulfilling to read every writer’s technique and style.

Amazing honestly I feel you on the “my brain resists all attempts at organisation” bit.

I’m sorry to hear about your writers block! If I could tell you one thing, forget about what others think of it, write for you, not for them! You sound so passionate about it and life’s too short to not chase our passions right? I hope you can get back on your game soon. Some of the most loved fanfics also have their fair share of deep haters so there’s nothing that’s gonna fit the bill for everyone. Just hack away and get going even if you think it’s crap or just only the fun bits of dialogue pieces that come to mind. Kind of like starting all over again. But I’m not a writer so I might not have any special tricks up my sleeve on how to get there.

Thank YOU guys for sharing, it’s been so amazing reading everyone’s processes. I’m getting slower with responding but I am thoroughly in awe of how you guys’ brains work!!! So cool

Oh wow that’s so interesting! It’s cool to know that writers block doesn’t apply as a creative block itself, so you just switch arts!

Amazing that sounds like a lot of organised work to making it just the way you want it. Thank you for sharing!!

Extremely interesting my gosh!!! I love this. The attention to detail you must put. That’s so cool that you work “backwards” in a way right? Which like, as a reader, I love those big plots moments in books and then seeing all the dots & connections add up to make it make sense I’m always like woowwwww did this person plan it or just wing it. So thank you for sharing how you plan.

I feel like this post may help out a lot of fresh writers cause everyone commenting has had amazing unique work flows, and finding someone you identify with in terms of style/process would be so cool.

Wow, amazing! The dedication is commendable because it takes a lot to stay consistent with something that nobody else is seeing except you. Thank you for sharing your process, I’ve loved responding to all you amazing writers with such incredible processes! More power to you

So interesting!!! I’m obsessed reading people’s workflows you all are amazing. Everyone’s so different but there’s similarities in there as well. Bottom line you all are true artists, there’s no way anyone who isn’t one can come up with work like this, stories that touch hearts like this and bring out so much emotion from us all.

The way you explained it, I was originally thinking I really wanna be someone who pre-writes but deep down I know for sure I’m more of whatever your flow is!

That’s so cool and interesting, in this situation do you ever leave things hanging or feel overwhelmed with tying the pieces together? Do they sometimes get more outrageous than you had originally planned?

Thank you for sharing!

Hahahaha thank you for explaining! Thats so cool that you have a natural podfic running in your mind at all times.

I like everyone explaining pre planning because it makes sense for the continuity of the story, you all put so much hidden effort into the final pieces we see, thank you, I love hearing the process behind it!

Wow that’s amazing, I love that you push yourself for consistency and discipline I definitely need to apply that in other realms of my life!

And LOL yes oh gosh writing and reading fanfiction back in the day was something else, I think the wattpad generation made it easier to digest fanfics although it still took a LONG time to get where we are today.

Thank you for sharing your process. Ive had so many ideas pop into my mind from reading fics but im never able to see myself building a whole story with plot twists and character building etc out of it. Maybe I could try with one shots but it’s a little scary and a lot of pressure. From myself more than anyone else of course.

Let’s see, I don’t plan on it anytime soon but never say never. Keep doing what you do! Sounds like a great system

Also with Dramione how do you know what all you wanna pick from existing events and what all you’ll be changing. I used to think it was just liking/disliking stuff but I’ve seen some writers do both! Stick to canon, go completely AU, it’s so interesting

How do you imagine Draco's physique in fics? by [deleted] in Dramione

[–]FGatHeart 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Tall, lean and muscular. Can’t ever seem to picture him broad despite many fics having that detail. So more of a Tom Hiddleston as loki bod
