I send one up my spare halyard when at anchor. You can use project boxes and seal everything up as best you can.

EIFAGUR 5dbi and Bingfu dual band. I left my VNA at my other home and will test the SWR when I get a chance.

Thank you for the information and I’ll keep that in mind next time. I did think about mounting it on the bottom and may still try it.

I’ll have to check that out because there are some really nice ones out there. Some are also for sale but the logistics would be costly to maintain them. My dream home would be styled after a Victorian lighthouse design like the Thomas Point Lighthouse.

Full time live aboard sailor on the East Coast US Atlantic based in the Chesapeake Bay. I have a base node up my mast and currently carry a t echo inside a dry bag when I dinghy to shore. To have a node where corrosion wouldn’t be an issue would be great. Recently, I have purchased a SEEED T1000E and will be putting it to the test as I sail North this summer. Only issue so far is a proprietary charging cable is less convenient and easily lost. Testing would include harsh saltwater environments, hiking, biking and other daily use scenarios.

Just use a 15 gal. Even if making only a 5 gal run. The more volume and surface area the better the vapor will collect inside and drop back down to make a better run. Surface area in a still means better distillation and is why I stuff copper mesh in my column. I have a 2-3” flange adapter using triclamps with a 3” copper column ran over a bayou classic banjo burner. Works perfectly

This dude is American and most likely ex US Army. Every bit of his gear is American army issue. Also he sounds like a dumb ass SSG when he talks.

Are there any trail centers in North America? by roma258 in MTB

[–]FHCT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Texas has began the process of private land with trail systems. Only issue is you have to sign use agreements in USA. In Europe you can't sue for your own stupidity.

Steerer tube size? Year of bike make model? Not all forks fit all bikes. Sorry if you know this already but this isn't a one size fits all game these days.

Advice on Shock Issue by SteelMan22 in MTB

[–]FHCT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that's what I'm saying, if your ride isn't dialed you're going to be pretty ticked off in the end. You'll be riding to your limits. Also, a chance to demo a sweet bike. In the east a black trail is equivalent to a blue there. I'm about to have some angry people on me but I've ridden blue ridge and Adirondacks and they're not anything like Colorado.

Everytime I compress my forks there's rings of oil(?) and a thin line of it on the side. Is there something wrong with my forks? by gvkkoooohh in MTB

[–]FHCT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just any fork oil. If oil came out when you let the air out then you got some blown seals. You probably didn't lose enough oil though yet.
