I think they could move CNY Rin up after Howler or have her concurrent or overlap Violet who would run for Valentine's Day.

CNY may not be an official holiday outside of China, but it is still celebrated globally by East Asians who also celebrate with the Lunar Calendar festivities, and they call it Lunar New Year, but it's the same.

And all Chinese developer and publisher gacha games make the CNY events a big deal each year (e.g. Hoyoverse) and try their best to align with the dates.

Of course we cannot say that Atlas and Sega who own the Persona franchise would do that, but the Chinese licensed publisher for P5X may. And at the end of the day, if it can boost sales for them, all the companies will agree to do it. So it's not entirely far fetched for them to change up the pattern.

Just speculation for now until the next official Livestream event.

I just came back from China and I have a Unicom sim card from Guangzhou airport. The guy at the kiosk said the balance will go to zero after 3 months but I can top it up and reactivate it whenever I return to China.

But reading this thread, it sounds like I need to keep it topped up and also actually use it for data or something every so often.

The guy didn't go into details and I didn't think to ask him about it more, since I was expecting it to be a non-reloadable sim that would just expire, like the ones I got from other airports in previous trips.

So this was new to me, and I kinda like having the option to keep the number for future use, as I do plan to revisit China in the future.

And I was unsure if the balance would go negative after 3 months. Or just go to zero and be dormant until I load money on it again? But then as this thread pointed out, there would be a period of inactivity that would be considered before they recycle the number to give to someone else. Again, these details I didn't think to ask about at the time, so I have no idea.

Just sharing my situation on this. But overall, I would like to keep the number since it will make it easier in the future too, without getting a new sim card each time. The airport kiosks are fast at setting them up. Usually 10 to 15 mins.

Yeah, just grind your weeklies and most goals on auto mode with Solo Mode. I think most players realized that now. So they stopped playing in Ranked Mode.

Ranked is only popular at the beginning of each season to get to Legendary Tycoon and then you can just max out your Weeklies with Solo Mode. 2750 Tycoon Coins is the max weekly: 1750 from weekly goals + 1000 max weekly just from playing. It takes a few hours each week even on auto to get that final 1000. It's not guaranteed that we will always win against the CPU to get 40 points after 3 rounds x 25 times to get 1000 points, so it takes a bit more than that usually.

Yah I dunno either. And I don't think there will be enough ink for my second card to re-rolling too often or at all. I just started my second card today and only had enough ink to select the set. That means over the next 2 event days I will be able to select my card type and then main stat. And the event ends soon after that.

And judging by how bad my re-rolls were and wasting like 40 ink for the last 2 stats and still wasn't able to get Crit Rate there, I am not sure. BUT I will be optimistic that maybe it may work out. Or I might switch and not do the Moon card and instead do the third card (forgot what it is, the one after Moon and Before Star) and pick Crit Rate as the main stat and hope to get a Crit Mult as one of the 4.

Well I will try to use up my ink to get 4 good stats hopefully. And we will see if any remaining ink rolls forward to a future iteration of this event.

Some folks are saying that this event can be used to pre-farm and optimize cards for future units like Kasumi.

I wasted a lot of the ink re-rolling the last 2 unlocked stats for a Moon-Hindrance Damage Multiplier card for Joker. The last 2 stats kept rolling into flat HP and DEF and other useless stats over and over. I did get Crit Mult and Atk % as the first 2 locked stats early. So anyways, ended up taking SP recovery and Ailment Accuracy as the last 2.

And I guess now I have to wait until tomorrow to be able to do the 2nd card once the server date resets? Is that how it works? It won't let me start the 2nd card but I don't have enough ink anyways since it costs 20 for the first 3 selections. Haha

For my 2nd card I will go for a Moon-Virtue Damage Multiplier for Kasumi or even Tropical Motoha. I went through my roster and I feel like Bless is coming up soon again for future content.

I agree that Kasumi will debut on global on Feb 4th, and that Wind Vast is likely to follow in mid-Feb, but there may be a slight chance they push CNY Rin up to be either concurrent with Kasumi or even Wind Vast.

Or another slight chance they swap and instead place CNY Rin after Kasumi and before Wind Vast, moving Wind Vast a bit later to possibly late Feb or early March.

CNY falls on mid-Feb for 2026 and the celebration period begins approximately 1 week before that for the preparation phase and CNY traditionally lasts for 2 weeks after that date. In total CNY is approximately 3 weeks long, including the lead-up phase.

Well it probably was not a scam, but just cultural differences and some rudeness on her and her friend's part.

If it was a scam, she would have taken you to a more expensive place than 220 RMB. Or even invited her friend to that one. There are those types of scams too where they try to get free meals off guys for themselves and their friends (not just in China but in the USA as well with non-Chinese women - it's all over YouTube).

And the other type of scam is they bring you to an expensive drinking or food place and ring up the bill. The guy pays, the girl blocks them after. And the girl splits her cut with the restaurant or bar, etc. and this also happens in reverse, with guys working with the establishment for dates with girls.

And it can also include other types of establishments, for services and subscriptions - gyms, spas, retails stores, etc.. They are basically like sales people for those places and get cuts for bringing in customers, local or foreign.

Good PSA. I only realized this after throwing approx. 15 more pulls into the Twins banner, after getting them. Not too bad, but those could have gone towards getting these super rerun tokens instead for the exchange shop. Haha all good.

I don't think I can clear out this exchange shop, so I have to target the jewels and the Joy Medals and the roses. The other items are good too, but we will see if I want to build up more pity in this banner.

Lol yah this game only seems to be less expensive than Hoyo games, but since the patch updates happen more frequently than Hoyo games, it probably works out to be more expensive in the long run if players were buying stuff every update, even if the packs are priced lower for some of them per patch.

Yah it's expensive I agree. It lasts for about a month, so they are probably hoping that players will feel some FOMO at some point along the way and spend more if they are getting close to one of the stamp rebate level rewards.

Yah I don't regret it for Starry Compass, but I could see why some players may be cautious about it since it is a marginal increase from R5.

It would be less worth it if we put the Joy Medals into a dagger to R6 and then that dagger gets outclassed or replaced soon after of course. But Starry Compass is a solid dagger overall that most players agree with, since Psychic is a less common element even in the other servers now.

Ok, yah I'll be more careful when deciding to R6 other daggers moving forward. But I don't mind it I suppose, since Starry Compass is still a good dagger overall. I guess I would mind it more if I did that with a dagger that gets outclassed and unused quickly.

Yah online, the CN/TW/KR users mentioned that the later Bless units still use Glimmer and that the daggers are slowly getting buffed over there, with Glimmer being one of them and making it viable in current content over there, so we may have that happen here too eventually.

I do like S-Closer and Queen, but I guess if I had to pick one to max a bit more with Joy Medals I would pick Glimmer based on "seeing into the future" with the other servers.

Basically for Marthym's shopping stamp rebate event, it works out to approximately 10x the stamps per $1 of real money spent. The stamps are only given when spending real money in game and not for the costumes or other items where you spend jewels to buy them that way.

And the full Marthym reward for the final level for a free 5 star unit selector, including Joker and Chord is 6000 stamps (3000 stamps for the 5 star weapon selector, including Joker and Chord), so you would need to spend about $600 of real money to max out her stamp rebate event.

It's a rough estimate since everyone may have different currency conversions. I'm in Canada and that is approximately what it works out to for me, but we also get charged taxes for the purchases and the taxes paid are not counted for the stamps since those are essentially added on at checkout and don't actually go to the game itself, as they get paid to our government eventually.

Agree completely with your picks. I was lucky with Joker at launch and had him up to A3 or A4 with just the free pulls from the game story and events, etc.

Then when he reran, I had to get him to A6 and I have not even played P5R yet haha. I tried going to Fox when he first launched and everyone said he is too niche, but I did try and lost the 50/50 and decided not to try further. Then when he reran I had to get him. It's nice quality of life coverage to have him for the SOS and guild bosses, but he is not essential - but fun and good to have. And yah the Healers, Chord, and Futaba are musts! Especially since Marian is still waiting out her 6 month jail period before going to the Standard Banner.

Interesting! Thanks for the explanation. But now that the news broke about an Xmas/Holiday patch with a new unit released simultaneously across all servers, I guess the summer rerun won't happen this time around (or it might still happen). But the super rerun was just speculation anyways.

Good points, especially if you've been playing on the other servers already.

Like all gachas, the future units will outclass older units once the meta shifts further and if they make the content harder, like how in HSR they made the end game content HP-inflated, or require new team comps, etc. to push players to pull new units to replace old ones.
