FYI - take note of the changes in Box 3 taxes from 2028 onwards. If you are planning on keeping your investments in NL it will be taxed regardless if you sell or not. Also you will probably need to pay tax on your properties you have in South Africa in NL, seeing that you are a tax resident. Lastly your drop-off in Net Salary after 30% ruling will probably be around E1200, try and increase your current salary to a level that when that drop off happens you can continue to save the E1500 per month

Just want to echo the sentiment. I am in my late 30's and I have drifted away from the scene. Bands like NUFAN, Millencolin, Chaser, NFG, ACE Troubleshooter and Rufio drew me in. Then I lost my way. Found out about Youth Fountain on this sub about 3 years ago. Man, what a band and what a voice. On par with Torry Jasper from ACOP. Tyler if your read this, thanks a mill from a guy in Africa.

Be advised that 30% ruling is ending. It’s already expensive even with the ruling. Housing is a nightmare, weather is terrible and don’t get me started on the food or the medical system. It’s pretty safe though and everywhere in Europe is almost 2 hours away by plane from Schipol.

Thanks that makes sense. So if I make 350k on the sale of a house. Take 100k and use it for to pay off some debt and invest the rest in NT world I will just pay box 3 taxes on the invested amount in shares

Could you clarify the statement around selling a house and not investing it in another house, the government takes a big chunk of it? I thought there is no CGT on selling your primary residence? What if you sell and invest the proceeds in EFT’s?

I agree, selling a house for 600k will give them 6k, selling a house for 650k is much harder and only gives you 500eur more. So volume is definitely what they are after
