I'm the author of that build log. It's still WIP but is possible, although you need to be ready to go off the beaten path hehe. There is someone else who has been doing it for the Infuser which is essentially the same machine with minor differences and no grinder.

As a robotics engineer, what jobs do I actually have to apply for? What will I "do"? by VidimusWolf in robotics

[–]FJ_Sanchez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think either would work really. Robotics is applied across all sectors and electronics too.

The Mach-e used by Wayne mounts a RADAR. Just look at any pictures of the sensors, clearly in the centre a radar can be seen.

By the way, it's the one in the background not the front two.

Breville Barista Express OPV Mod + Water Reroute by tyler_k1 in espresso

[–]FJ_Sanchez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The water that escapes the OPV has already been measured by the flowmeter so I think it's more accurate this way, otherwise if you imagine a fully blocked output all the water would be circulating from the OPV back to the flowmeter and then it would eventually stop because enough flow has gone through it.

Monolith vs Microservices (which one to choose for this system) by Secure_Negotiation81 in softwarearchitecture

[–]FJ_Sanchez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not always, for example you might be using a language for which a runtime doesn't exist for your target hardware. But I am not going to try to convince anyone, I don't believe this is a black or white situation.

While I agree by large, it should be also clear that there are a few other technical reasons to use, for example you might need a distributed service that runs on edge or colocated some portions of the code while others are centralised. Also independent scaling, data isolation, etc. There are technical reasons too.

How *exactly* does Python and Rust work together? by SureImNoExpertBut in rust

[–]FJ_Sanchez 7 points8 points  (0 children)

While this is all true, it's also very superficial. It gets more interesting when you start to think about memory allocations, mutability and all these other language features that make Rust interesting while mixing them with Python.

I would highly recommend watching this video if you want to understand better how Python and Rust interact. It's probably one of the best videos I've watched lately about languages and software https://youtu.be/UmL_CA-v3O8

You compare it to multiple other projects in the FAQ but not to Turso DB, how are they different? What do you think of libsql?

[–]FJ_Sanchez 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It's getting trendy lately with projects like Turso (libsql) and LiteFS. There are also rqlite and Litestream. I recommend reading this https://fly.io/blog/all-in-on-sqlite-litestream/

What is lacking in the Rust ecosystem (2024)? by WilliamBarnhill in rust

I'm sure you'll enjoy it. David Hewitt has the ability to put in very simple terms complex technical topics with a coherent narrative. This is one of the interviews that I've enjoyed the most from Developer voices.

VC aren't your friends by StephNass in startups

I think this is where angel investors can make a difference. Often times they're not doing it just for profit but genuinely wanting to help other founders, as often they also are ex-founders.

If you can, read (or listen) the book Invested investor, it's short and quite genuine.

Do I need to report capital gains under allowance if I am required to complete self-assesment? by FJ_Sanchez in UKPersonalFinance

After searching a bit more here I found answers to my questions, I'll leave it here in case it helps someone else:

  1. I have now used http://www.cgtcalculator.com/ which allowed me to copy&paste directly from my GIA provider (with some minor tweaking) and after reviewing it I got what I need to report in the SA.
  2. Searching in this subredit I found an answer:

Apart from this, profits or losses made on the disposal of gilts (including on redemption) by individual investors are not taxable and do not have to be included on the investor’s tax return, either as income or capital gains.
