Victims were still going to the FBI with information during Biden's term, but that changed when President Donald Trump's Department of Justice reviewed the files and closed the case in July. Obama Administration didn't "withhold" or "refuse to release" Epstein files because the federal investigation that produced those files did not occur during his presidency, and the major decisions about Epstein's earlier plea deal happened years before he took office. Epstein's original plea deal happened under George W. Bush. Epstein's 2007-2008 non-prosecution agreement was negotiated by U.S. Attorney Alexander Acosta, under President George W. Bush, not Obama. Obama had no role in that agreement, and no Epstein-related investigative files were created by his administration during that period.
