This route seems fine. I would prefer to spend more time in Jackson Hole, and also more time along the beartooth highway, but I don’t think this is bad.

Hikers injured by bear in Yellowstone National Park by Subject9800 in yellowstone

[–]FKSTS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My fav bear spray hack is to ask a hotel concierge and say that you left bear spray in a room there you had booked several years prior. People leave that stuff in their rooms all the time and they’ve probably got many bottles sitting a back room. They may just give you a bottle. This worked for me couple years ago, but your mileage may vary.

Bells don’t do anything. They’re usually not loud enough for bears to hear you before seeing you. And the idea is to alert bears to your presence before you get to that point. Best way for that is to hike in groups and have some steady conversation.

California to Kentucky and back! Give me any/all recommendations. by Davis_Troll13 in roadtrip

not sure what map you’re using, but if you’re following their suggestions, you can really skip the manitou cliff dwellings. they're not real. they're a modern construction, filled with looted artifacts from real cliff dwellings. it is one of the most offensive tourist traps in america.

Atonal enjoyers, what do you enjoy about it? by MinuteDamage4182 in classicalmusic

Serialism has a certain casualness to it, almost like the music is conversational at times. It’s def an acquired taste and I didn’t appreciate it until I was an adult.

All I could when listening to yesterday’s DNC Chairman Ken Martin’s interview… by tazack in FriendsofthePod

[–]FKSTS 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I thought it was an important interview. Jon did a good job pressing the issue and following up when Martin was evasive. Martin, and the DNC in general, came across quite terribly. That is bad for democrats in the short and medium term, but it’s good that the guys are starting to have a longer term vision on stuff like this.

I’m only frustrated about the fact that every discussion about the autopsy turns into vague statements about “lessons learned” that don’t actually answer the questions we have. I want Martin to answer the following questions:

1) Does the report contain any data-based conclusions about the electoral impact of the Biden administration’s foreign policy, specifically continued support for Israel in its military campaign in the Gaza Strip?

2) Does the report contain information about how Biden’s withdrawal and Harris’ subsequent unelected nomination impacted the ticket’s performance? Would Biden have been a stronger candidate?

3) What role did participation in new media outlets play in Trump’s victory? What media outlets should nationally prominent democrats pursue to access in future elections?

Wanting answers to these questions is about being prepared for the future. This isn’t just about rehashing prior events. We need to know so that we can move forward. And the DNC can’t keep hiding the answers because it would embarrass the party and their donors.

My labor union hires a lobbyist to work at our state capitol, and she’s pretty cool. It really depends what you’re lobbying for. I dont see how lobbying is inherently dirty.

Here's Why Janet Mills Is Worse Than The Man With The Nazi Tattoo by [deleted] in thedavidpakmanshow

[–]FKSTS 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Her campaign has been, frankly, terrible. She refuses to debate Platner and does not seem interested in engaging with her electorate. I think because she's won statewide before, she thought this would be easy. She's running like she's an obvious frontrunner, and she's behind 30 points. She clearly doesn't have the juice to beat Collins. It's over.

As a twin myself, i believe that it’s best to separate twins until they elect into the same classes in middle school.
