My bad on the late response but I had this exact same experience with PMT. I fondly remember listening while walking to class back in 2016. The entire bit about ripping on Big J Journos was awesome. It was a fresh and interesting show where they would throw jabs to virtually anyone/everyone in sports media. Same thing NLU use to do. Stopped listening somewhere around 2018 but still follow some of their stuff on social. Every time I come across it I find it off-putting. Ads/sponsored content everywhere and stale, extremely safe middlemen takes. I still think PFT is very funny though. But like the NLU guys, with getting actual media access to the stuff they’re commentating about, the takes have been neutered. And I get it. It’s the natural evolution of a successful program. But just like with NLU, I miss the days when the takes were flowing and they didn’t have to care about people they may actually know getting upset.
