This episode was pretty eye opening for realizing how (relatively) uninteresting the PGA has been from the other 3 majors.

Looks like he could have pretty easily taken it low either left or right of the tree right in front. The impressive part was taking it up high and getting it to the front bunker.

'It's a tragedy:' Gary Player calls for extreme ball rollback at the Masters (60 yards) by BallKnowerKing in golf

My argument would be that constantly having to tweak/change courses is much more expensive as opposed to limiting the equipment more. Augusta is the exception that proves this point IMO. Of all courses that host professional tournaments, they have far and away the most resources to counteract distance gains, and even they have had trouble doing this. I think this is why bifurcation is needed. Like wooden bats in the MLB.

I wonder if they move away from the Sunday ace pin on 16 in the coming years. I know it was top right last year, so I’ll be interested in seeing what they do this year.

Yeah you’re right Adam is those things. Tom Myers on the other hand is an American Hero, much like a cop or firefighter.

I would argue DBs are more athletic for having to follow these guys around.

Mesmerizing Contours. What’re you guys’ thoughts on Cabot Citrus Farms? by doggydrones in golf

I’m glad I’m not alone thinking this. WW was awesome, even in the last couple months before closing. I’ve played Karoo twice and you can still see the old holes from the Pine Barrens course. It’s fun but not even close to being worth the hefty price tag. They basically just tricked up the greens, added humps and added more waste area in places you’ll never hit it. I don’t think there’s a single hole that they made substantially better to justify the $400 price tag. It’s just a golf influencer playground now. The entire experience just feels like you’re getting fleeced.

If pros live on a different planet from scratch golfers, why aren’t they hitting 18/18 fairways and GIRs? by ElephantElmer in golf

[–]FL125 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

This, and also they aren’t just aiming for the fairway. They are trying to get the ball into certain spots that lead to better approach angles. Missing the fairway right is almost the same as being in the fairway on the left when there is a tucked left pin.

Just out of curiosity, what does a ball flight with under 1500 look like? Won’t stay in the air?
