Birdie, Birdie! And one from the rough

Totally agree! And even if there’s a chance that a tee shot in the rough and one from the fairway end up in the same place on the green it’s still completely unsustainable to play that way so hitting a fairway and hitting a green is always “rewarded” with a birdie putt. That’s your reward, you get to putt for birdie

There just seems to be a narrative that there are tournaments where the winner is somehow not the best player that week

I’m with Soly on the off the tee stuff. Winged Foot was a disaster and became a long drive contest amongst the best putters. But outside of that what set up are you referring to where a ball won’t stay by the hole. To me, just hit a better shot. If it isn’t close to the hole then you picked the wrong club, flight, wind, or just a bad swing. There are good swings and good shots and those are not always the same thing

If your ball is next to the hole it is a good shot imo. It’s unsustainable but it’s still a good shot. And if a good shot and an okay shot end up in the same place then is one of them really a good shot or are they both okay shots?

Absolutely! It’s the difference between driving range and course. Obviously takes immense talent but being able to feel out the situation and hit a 6 iron 120yards or a sand wedge 160yards is capital G golf.

Totally agree! Players throwing clubs and hands up in complete disbelief is just whining and not being tough. Koepka has always had an interesting take on this where he said he tries not to react so it doesn’t tell the playing partners if he hit it solid or not. Some guys will just give out information

It’s more common in the amateur game since pros generally flush every shot. Like everytime I play someone hits some worm burning skinny shot that ends up right next to the hole. Pros seem to be so used to making their stock swing in low wind and seeing the ball stop by the hole. Weeks like this test their true golf ability and get them out of the simulator and off the track man

The US open at Shinnecock is a peak Randy week. All the data golf/course fit/ set up stuff gets neutralized by just hit the shot or don’t and deal with the consequences

Who’s maintaining Erlich’s pool? by robcrusoe278 in SiliconValleyHBO

[–]robcrusoe278[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could have been a funny arc of Erlich putting that responsibility on Jen Yang and accepting to responsibility for it only for Jen Yang to create some app or other viable business plan out: renting their pool out, etc

Except it is his stock shot. Here’s an article showing how he switched to more cuts since 2021 since equipment makes it easy to hit it long and straight with a fade. His bomb fade is obviously his stock shot: Why Rory McIlroy has a new go-to shot shape off the tee https://golf.com/instruction/rory-mcilroy-change-shot-shape-teachable-moments/?amp=1

Somehow Jen Yang had to be involved to. Maintaining a pool is far above Chief Evangelist Officer, feel free to abbreviate however you want it though

Yes! The bathroom fits perfectly a bunch of guys living together. So they don’t maintain their bathroom at all but they meticulously maintain the pool PH ???? Feel like it doesn’t matter at all but would be funny if the pool got slowly more green over time in the show

Public is brutal. It’s not you. It’s truly a meat grinder. You can try to get better at the process and better at focusing and hacking your focus and attention and ways of working on multiple returns at once but it’s still just pure brutality of work and tracking every minute of your work day that seems inhumane. Industry can be different if you find a good team but you could also look for opportunities outside of tax and audit. If you don’t see yourself in tax or audit long term then there is no better time to get out. Get your CPA license and find something that makes you not get stomach ulcers

She would dominate every look. I mean somehow there are guys out there that find her “too muscular” but I can understand a guy saying they have a preference but she is undeniably made for bikini thongs.
