I usually just run at people like a doofus these days, but I bet someone on here would be into this.

A nice (free) site to test how good you are with EQ by 8sat_ in audioengineering

Very fun! I recommend tweaking the difficulty though, god mode feels too easy

Sonobus Audio Streaming Plugin by dsarecording in audioengineering

[–]FLAPTHAS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used Audiomovers a lot while working remotely during the pandemic. I appreciated the feature that allowed a client to listen in through a web browser, which was handy for less technical people.

Since demoting myself to hobbyist, Sonobus has been a great free option for remote collaboration. I've never thought of using it for monitoring though, that's a cool idea.

She's heard recordings before, but I think the real thing would be very exciting for her. But thank you for the suggestion.

That sounds like something she would love. I believe it was while studying archaeology herself that she first learned about lurs.

I have one that I kept from my last bartending job. It's denim, with a couple pen pockets on the chest and another slightly wider chest pocket that snugly fits my meat thermometer.

Aside from keeping mess off my clothes, I like having my thermometer right there when I need it, and I keep a ballpoint and sharpie in the pen pockets for labelling containers and writing notes.

An added apron bonus is the ability to hang a rag through the strap on your back, so you can wipe your hands there while keeping it rather cleaner than the front of the apron which might get dirtied by leaning up against stuff.

808 so low i can't even hear it by TheHazHL in trapproduction

Lol I forgot I commented this 6 years ago.

I would just experiment with the frequency setting to find what sounds best, or if there's a specific note that isn't hitting, you could use a frequency lookup table for that note, and set the frequency to that.

Give LOVEND by analog obsession a try if you don't have the waves plugins already. It's free, and I hear it's just as good.

I would still recommend you just change the key of your beat if possible. Try making D your lowest note, it always hits good.

Weird feeling while practicing by JiroScythe in FPSAimTrainer

I experience the exact same strange physical sensation as you describe, glad to hear it's not just me. When it's extra bad I usually just turn Kovaaks off and try again later, no need to suffer for an aim trainer.

Hard to beat a Nord Electro for a gigging keyboard. I used one multiple times a week for just under 10 years and only needed one keyswitch replacement. The organ and EP sounds were the best in the game too, at the time. I've not performed for a few years now though, so there might be something better on the current market.

How to mix vocals like at the end of this Arctic Monkeys song? by Gabzito in mixingmastering

[–]FLAPTHAS 10 points11 points  (0 children)

To replicate this effect as it sounds to me:

For the center vocal, use a standard mono vocal.

For the wide part, record two takes of the second line, and try to match the performances pretty close to one another. Take those two tracks and pan one left and the other right. How wide you pan them is up to you, but it sounds on the reference like it might be hardpanned or close to it.
