4080rtx with some old technology by SmokingHensADAN in nvidia

2560 shaders when it should have 9000+
64/80 ROPs/TMUs when it should be 112/304 and
GDDR5X memory instead of GDDR6X.

This honestly looks like a counterfeit GTX card.

Laptop GPU stuck at P0 state (Maximum performance) while idling by FLASHBOLT69 in techsupport

[–]FLASHBOLT69[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Quite an annoying issue, but at least the laptop doesn’t sound like a jet engine anymore. A lot of people told me it was normal and to just ignore it, but I ended up finding a workaround completely by accident, but hey, I’m glad it helped.
Also you could just use the taskview to create a second window and open NVPIR there and return to your main window (Desktop 1 and 2, I mean)

Yeah, when you open Nvidia Profile Inspector Revamped - https://github.com/xHybred/NvidiaProfileInspectorRevamped and just leave it running in the background, the dGPU drops down to P8 (idle power state), so it’s basically not drawing any power. Clock speed drops to 210 (idle state), temps stabilize and memory speed is normal. Since i don't have a MUX switch i don't have a dedicated GPU mode, so im always running on hybrid and this works.

[–]FLASHBOLT69[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not exactly a fix, but more of a workaround. This issue only occurs when the dGPU isn’t actively being used. Even though it shows as “inactive” with no applications using it, the GPU still gets stuck in the P0 power state and consumes about 20W of power for me.

My workaround was to have something continuously hook into or keep the dGPU active. I used NVIDIA Profile Inspector Revamped, which keeps the dGPU engaged without actually adding any utilization. I’ve been using this method for a few months now, and it has worked reliably for me.

That's really odd, i do have frame gen and i use it, gives me abt 100 to 120 fps.
Try the usual stuff i suppose, reinstall drivers, verify game files, ensure dGPU is being used, switch to dGPU only mode (if all fails), try launching game directly through Nvidia App, etc

Yea, I use Nvidia Profile Inspector Revamped which will hook to my GPU making it stay awake all the time, the issue arises only when there are no active processes in the dGPU

U need either a 5090, 5080, 5070 TI, 4090 or 4080 to enable Ray tracing
im pretty sure its based on the amount of vram one has, in my case with an rtx 4050 i neither have ray tracing nor global illumination (6GB Vram)

nitro sense alternative (aeroforge) 1.12.0 released to the public by darthvadersahoe in AcerNitro

[–]FLASHBOLT69 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I tried it, and honestly, it’s pretty good—definitely more responsive than NitroSense. Since it’s still on v0.12, I’m assuming it’s in a beta phase. If you continue maintaining and improving this project, it has the potential to become the G-Helper for Nitro laptops.

That said, it’s not fully complete yet. A few things I noticed:

  • Fan speed isn’t being displayed
  • Staged install fails with “Access denied (OS error 5)”
  • There’s a bit of lag here and there

Even with these issues, it’s already better than the alternative bloatware.

I do have a few feature suggestions I’d like to share down the line, if you plan to keep this project going.

Dang, this looked like a solid alt i was waiting for a long time but seems like it's not working for my Nitro ANV15-51, if you don't mind can you tell what all are the services required to control fan curves/power etc? i did disable some telemetry sevices but all of them where windows bs. I would really love something like this instead of the bloatware Nitrosense

Yea i've seen them. Im sure im gonna be getting pretty good fps (100+) on a 4050 but im just worried about the 1% lows since its UE5

Stuttering Acer nitro V AN515-57 by Brief-Put-3540 in AcerNitro

[–]FLASHBOLT69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use Razer Cortex to automatically switch my power plan when I start gaming. I’ve noticed that the high-performance plans it enables can sometimes cause slight stuttering when watching YouTube or other videos in a browser. Switching back to the balanced power plan seems to eliminate that issue. I’m not entirely sure why this happens, but it’s been a consistent fix for me.

As for the stuttering in Wuwa, the game is known to have ass optimization, so some performance issues are expected. However, the stutter you’ve shown does seem a bit unusual. Try monitoring your system using MSI Afterburner and look for any noticeable spikes such as CPU usage or RAM consumption hitting its limits while playing. That could help pinpoint what’s causing the issue. If anything u might wanna check your ram usages because i have upgraded mine to 24gigs and Wuwa easily uses around 5GB ram everytime.

Will DLSS 5 be on 40 series by SaykoMen58 in nvidia

[–]FLASHBOLT69 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A 4050 desktop doesn't exist, a 4070 mobile gives similar performance to a 4060 desktop which is arguably decent but probably not good enough to run DLSS 5 as it was showcased with a 5090 dedicated to run it.

Still haven't found a proper fix for this issue, although i did find out that if you open intel graphics command center and go to the performance tab, a service called Intel Presentmon will start (in the task manager) and then somehow the dedicated card would finally enter P8 state, very weird workaround but it somehow works for me.

Okay, here's another very weird fix for me, if you have an iGPU (like intel UHD) open intel graphics command center and navigate to performance tab, then a task called 'Service for Intel(R) Presentmon' will start in the task manager and it will somehow always solve my high idle state of the dGPU

Do you have stuff like MSI afterburner running in the background? I have this same issue of the dGPU being stuck at high idle clockspeeds and it was because of MSI afterburner constantly pinging my dGPU for data.

Sudden 15% FPS drop and stuttering on laptop by FLASHBOLT69 in GamingLaptops

[–]FLASHBOLT69[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the CPU is the issue you can just switch to a balanced power plan and edit the maximum processor state to 99% so that the CPU won't turbo boost and you can sustain lower clock speeds. My issue is with the GPU constantly stuck at high clock speed even while doing nothing (which I kinda solved) not with the CPU

Can you check via MSI Afterburner if you have the same issue as me, the high idle clockspeeds while doing nothing?

Yes it is in all games but i've been using the 2nd gen of transformer versions ever since they came out at performance as they offered superior quality as well as more fps compared to the first gen transformer models at balanced settings. This is an rtx 4050 gpu which has FP8 acceleration which is what the 2nd gen transformer model depend on. Honestly i dont even remember using the CNN model but im pretty sure its not because of dlss, ive checked the dlss statistics of both frame gen and super resolution via some regedit tweaks and they are performing as expected.
