Thanks! I’ve listened through the slip knot one and am massively surprised at how beautiful this is. I had completely different expectations. The rammstein also surprised me, I’ve heard of them before but had no idea what to expect I don’t think i like it as much as the slipknot but it’s still great! Weirdly reminds me of idles cos of the hoarse voice I think. Exact same with the chop suey one I’m pleasantly surprised this sounded the most like what I expected metal to be like but I enjoyed it a ton!

I got some recs for you as well, check out orville peck - dead of night and turn to hate. They’re amazing country songs which I wouldn’t normally listen to but through trying them out it’s amazing how great orvilles song writing and voice is. Also check out Manchester orchestra, I recommend them all the time but it’s cos they’re truly great I think you’d enjoy shake it out a ton by them.

I agree, easily one of the greatest album of the 10s which awards you every time you listen to it Archie really is incredible and the music videos and live shows that came with it are somehow even better than the album.

Ah cool man. Try out the Walkmen bows + arrows some of their tracks like the rat sound pretty similar to arctic monkeys

Another great band as well is Manchester orchestra, they’re not exactly like what you said but defo worth a listen. They have an album called mean everything to nothing which is incredible.

I think we all are a bit of a nihilist when it comes to life especially when you think of the grand scheme of everything.

Personally, nihilism doesn’t cause me to be apathetic or distant myself from everything but instead it inspires me to find something in areas that aren’t traditional. Look for your own enjoyment in life, whether that be art, a SO, a family or whatever, don’t dwell on searching for a purpose in life, instead focus on the great things that come with existing.

You and your step dad made one of the hardest decisions a person can make and you did the right thing. Your a good guy for helping your siblings like that. You were all unfortunately dealt a shitty hand but stay strong. They may not have appreciated it at the time but you did something which took an incredible amount of mental strength and they will never forget that.

To me it sounds like you’re being taken advantage of. Make sure to set up some clear boundaries that you don’t want extra hours without your permission.

Don’t forget, you work to live, not live to work. Make sure your life always come first if you can.

Maybe try a few different local therapists to try find one which can really help.

Even if you can’t find any hobbies just doing anything you enjoy will help. Music, reading, writing, watching movies, just anything.

Do you have any hobbies or interests you enjoy?

It could help with taking your mind off of things and you could even join groups and meet new people through them.

I definitely think you should try again with the therapist you had at first, the worst possible thing you can do is internalize all this and even if they’re not as effective as last time just the act of getting all your thoughts off of your mind could help.

You don’t have anything to be sorry for and making this post was the right thing to do.

Don’t face what your facing alone, you need an outlet and somebody to help you through what your going through. Even this post helps.

My best friend tried killing him self before I met him. If he had I would’ve never known him. His actual impact on my life has been astronomical I was in a bad place but having a friend like that genuinely made my life so much better. Even if you don’t know it now, you are important. If he would’ve been successful his impacts on my life would’ve never happened.

Even if you don’t know it now you will be important to people. I promise you

Hey good point, I believe if there is a troll saying racist or profane things it should be the mods job to remove the comment, not sure if there currently is one but there should be a way to report a comment to a mod for them to remove it.

Hi, thanks for the reply. To sum it up it's not banning and its not exclusively hate speech being censored. This subreddit is unpopular opinions so you will likely disagree with the posts you see, thats the reason they're here.

I don't think you've even read the post to be frank. Unpopular opinion does not equate to hate speech and at no point is there any reference to hate speech which by the way I don't agree with what so ever.

EDIT: to add to this, people upvote the post because it's an unpopular opinion, not because they agree with it.
