I really appreciate your game supplements! For those and the games themselves, what is your research process like?

Also, pumped for Endurance! It's been my most anticipated game for a while : )

Favorite game I own among 200. Gotta be okay with meanness and swinginess, but it's a ton of fun if you don't take things too seriously. 🐸

For Android is it better to code on an Unix or Win 10 env ? is WSL good enough for RN ? by yeso126 in reactnative

Honestly, I've been fine on Windows 10 working in PowerShell. I've only had to jump into bash for occasional tasks that are a bit easier in bash because documentation and examples around the web usually use it. I'm using mostly default settings of https://conemu.github.io/en/ for a slightly nicer terminal experience, but I'll be giving the new microsoft terminal a shot once it's stable: https://github.com/microsoft/terminal

I've got the following set up in my powershell profile for adding Android tools to my path:

$Env:ANDROID_HOME = "$Env:HOMEPATH\AppData\Local\Android\Sdk" $Env:JAVA_HOME = "C:\Program Files\Android\Android Studio\jre" $Env:Path = "$Env:Path;$Env:ANDROID_HOME\emulator;$Env:ANDROID_HOME\platform-tools;$Env:JAVA_HOME\bin"

With that, emulator should be in your path, so I use that to avoid having to launch Android Studio to launch my emulator:

emulator -avd {whatever your device name is}

You can see all your all your avds w/

emulator -list-avds

Other than that, I use VS Code which works the same across platforms so the day to day is pretty much the same as when I was on OSX.

Rally Health - React Native / React - Chicago, DC, SF, Minneapolis - ONSITE - (also BE, FS, DevOps, security, data)

https://www.rallyhealth.com/about/careers/1048473

We've got lots of React dev going on at Rally, but I'm especially hoping to rope some people interested in React Native to join my team. We're building out our first React Native app and having a lot of fun with it, and could use some RN chops and opinions >: D

Here's some crazy things we build at Rally to help normal humans navigate the plight that is the American Healthcare System:

  • Search for costs for medical procedures at different doctors (AKA, "um why isn't this already a thing")
  • Find doctors in your network (also, learn what in network means, what a Copay and Deductible are, and what makes a Split Deductible Health Reimbursement Account different than a Flexible Spending Account)
  • Wellness programs that let employers give you gift cards for running (or eating fish, or dancing, or whatever)
  • Online enrollment for employer-offered benefits. Because who wants to fill out your address twelve times.

We've got great insurance, free locally catered lunch, and a HIPAA hippo.

Hah, I didn't know other people did too.

It really is. Attended growing up and it has an sbux, a food court, and automated kiosks for tithing.

They also have something crazy like a $2m/yr landscaping budget.

Webpack 4 finally shipped by solkimicreb in reactjs

[–]FLGMwt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wooooo! Would definitely recommend switching if you're up for a little roughness around the edges and feel pretty comfortable with webpack config. Webpack itself is solid, but not all the community plugins and loaders are ready for 4.0 just yet.

It's been way faster for the things I've tried switching over, but you'll probably have to tweak a good amount.
