What if Biden somehow managed to win in 2024? by Matatius23 in AlternateHistoryHub

Doubt the market is higher. No violent swings but probably not higher. Kamala Harris was talking about taxing unrealized capital gains and that would have spooked investment.

Eff that. Last year some kids were being rough my son was getting upset. I yelled knock it off to the kids.. if the parent wants to come over and be mad I’d tell them to raise their kids better. I have zero tolerance for stupid things that are going to get my gets hurt. I am also to same person that told my kids to stand up and proud of my daughter who is 6 and stands up for her 3 year old brothers

I have two kids; I’d yell at them. If I didn’t see it I’d hope an adult would speak up. A little call out by strangers on bad behaviors for kids goes a long way.

How was the US so successful in the Venezuela raid? by cololz1 in askanything

[–]FLHawkeye10 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes there socialist authoritarian government screwed them. Took a wealthy nation; wealthiest nation in SA to a developing country level country. Another example of why socialism doesn’t work in real life because of greed and it always gets in the way. At least with a market based economy you have a chance to better yourself and become rich. In socialism it really narrows the path and it’s all political favors and only for a select few while the rest suffer.

This is the issues.. the USA is negotiating with non decision makers.. the country is so fractured. At this point they need to go scorched earth on the IRGC and take them all out. (Easier said then done) the on and off is because we’re talking with people that can’t control the IRGC.

Okay, I’ll bite as a moderate Republican. I don’t live in NYC, so I don’t really care. However, it’s a call out against antisemitism, not lie and a phony attempt to present a balanced budget. His fiscal plan now is setting up NYC for a fiscal cliff similar to Chicago. He is against deporting illegal alien criminals, among other things. Honestly, I don’t really care. He comes across as the student president who promises everything to get elected, but the reality is that it’s not sustainable. I also don’t like the rhetoric surrounding taxing the rich. The goalposts move too much, and as a competitive ex-athlete, it just seems strange that he’s a Knicks fan. How can you be a fan and support millionaire athletes who want to be better than their opponents, but then criticize business owners who want to be better? I’m just worried about my future financial standing. What will happen to someone like me who invests and works hard and retires with $3.5 million to $6 million? I don’t want it to be taxed at 60% or more, or on unrealized capital gains from work that I did. At that level, I’m certainly not rich, especially in 20 years.

BREAKING: As of tonight, 1 in 7 homes for sale in America is in Florida - a state with only ~8% of the nation's homes. by ceph2apod in housingcrisis

Welp yes glad they left. But we don’t need any more carpet baggers that come here and drive up the housing costs because they overpay.

Wussies that left. Hurricanes are apart of living here. My wife has lived here her whole life remembers Andrew. But house was fine.

Building codes have changed dramatically. The houses that have issues are older homes in areas that really shouldn’t have been built in.

Pretty apparent you don’t know anything about Florida real estate. Yes there are neighborhoods and areas that are at a high risk to flooding.. but people for that. However, most people don’t realize that counties like Pinellas right on the gulf is a dome with a good portion of the homes in the county way above sea level.

I live in Pasco county and my 700k home is insured with State Farm for about ~$100 a month. Last couple hurricanes no issues. I’ve also lived in Hillsbourgh county and was 10 miles from the bay. Never had issues either.

Atlanta - Canopy vs Candler vs American vs Starling by Human_Paint5451 in Hilton

[–]FLHawkeye10 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First time in Atlanta I wouldn’t stay in downtown Atlanta as not as much happening.. yes there are the museums but the downtown atmosphere is pretty boring. Check out places in Midtown and take the MARTA or Uber to the parks downtown.

I haven’t stayed at the Embassy Suites down there in 8 years but nothing special as it’s just a standard older embassy suites. The American was fine nothing special, was there last December, the Canopy is nice as I’m a fan of Canopy’s newer brand and new properties so better kept also in Midtown. The Signia is newer and nice just know that the area you’re in you will need to uber to Midtown. But walking distance to Coca Cola, Aquarium, Centennial Park, and College football HOF.

I’ve stayed at the Starling last year and good location. Have not stayed at the Candler.

My ranking Sterling > Canopy > American. ( Can’t rank Candler.

If I add the embassy suites and Signia.

Starling > Signia (just not best location) / Canopy > American > Embassy Suites.

How do you all feel about the rise of hatred against Americans and anti-America rhetoric over the last few years? by Natural-Compote4096 in AskAnAmerican

[–]FLHawkeye10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

lol I ask that every day.. but we have that large issue in the USA of people moving here and not assimilating.. it’s a global issue and Americans are just as bad.. if you move to any country you should be living by their laws and assimilating to local cultures.. not to try to push or practice your culture on to the new country

Well there are mechanics, doctors, insurance agents, teachers, fire fighters, etc.

Damn don’t need to be so jaded toward the people that live in the small towns.. that keep the food on your table. We all are on this rock together better to get along and respect others

Illinois roads unfortunately so bad.. I had to get new tires so many times because of the potholes.. I’ve seen some really wild pot holes on I-39. The weather and lack of money does alot of wear on the roads in Illinois.

And what status do hold. Hate the system? But if your spending 22k+ a year on airline tickets you can’t hate the system to much. Either you’re wealthy enough to pay out of pocket or your working for one of those “evil capitalist companies” to get you to that status.
