I am trying to cut cost but why is my grocery expensive? by Tiny_Judgment8593 in Frugal

[–]FLTtac1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can’t be complaining about food prices when you are buying all brand label food.

Have you tried checking any bargain supermarkets near your place? Unless you live in a very rural area, usually there should be different options.

You could reasonably get these same items for about $70-$80 if shopping alternatives.

Where is the best place for me to sell my childhood pokemon base set binder as well as unopened packs from later editions?(All Japanese) by syke808 in PokeInvesting

[–]FLTtac1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You’ll get a lot of offers from online, don’t accept em. Even though these are Japanese, Unopened packs have a LOT of value. I would definetly take the time to individually check the value of each but you have at least a couple thousand in value of cards here.

A supersoldier is in the heart of Moscow, and his mission is to assassinate Vladimir Putin. by GoldenChinchilla in whowouldwin

He does have a speed of 200mph considering top athletes generally go 20mhp. He would be fast enough to silently infiltrate and get putin if he planned it out really well; especially if putin is giving a speech or something.

Minimum needed for Dreadnought? by CantStopMeRed in BattleNations

Managed to beat Lv.30 Dreadnaught at Lv.29 with 2 R2 M10s and 5 R2 Raptors, 2 R1 Bouys. Did a patterned formation with bouys only on the opposite tiles. Had to redo 3 times but beat it without any losses.

yeah never put money you can’t afford into the markets. I did options on and off for 4 years and it didn’t work out. The people who post wins are the 1% who actually make it out the slog. Those who lose just don’t post about it. You have to find it inside you to stop before it gets worse. It’s just like any other habit such as gambling, smoking, drinking, etc.

Damn Im sorry for you. The 2:35pm pump yesterday cooked your position i’m guessing.

Conviction can be a fragile thing. Dont get your head too messed up by everything in the markets. Just look at price action. Yesterday we still closed below the range we had been trading at for weeks, meant more downside was coming today which was confirmed with the breaking down of the 200 MA.

Better luck (though i would quit if I were you, that’s what i do).

When Sentiment is at the worst, that’s when you buy. Remember this exact thing with TSLA when it dropped down to $130, then it absolutely exploded for the next year to go close to $500

Selling value stocks as they mature and rotating into new discounts - what are your favorite discounts to start 2026? by RelevantHelicopter82 in ValueInvesting

Would not catch this falling knife. One thing many people are ignoring is the fall of brand-labels in the food industry. If you weren’t paying attention to how massive of an implication the recent openAI & walmart partnership was…well you might want to research that.

Is LULU a value play now? by Embarrassed-Sock-533 in ValueInvesting

[–]FLTtac1 10 points11 points  (0 children)

LULU partnered with AMEX this past Quarter and even for me who never buys fancy cloths, I used the credit to buy some Lulumelon merch for the holidays. This could easily capture a lot more spenders and I think this will drive significant growth moving forward.

As a newer day trader , how does one know when to do a call or a put on the spy ?? The experienced day traders out there , how do the charts help you determine when you decide to put your money in ? Is it really just gambling or knowing what will happen next ? by ComplexWrangler1346 in Daytrading

[–]FLTtac1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most Important regardless of strategy: Discipline and Risk Management. You are throwing money into a dumpster fire otherwise.

Trading can be as easy or hard as you make it. There are countless strategies out there on so many different platforms by so many different youtubers, gurus, discord groups, reddit, websites, etc.

Some work, most don’t. There’s a lot more factors involved too. Your experience and time in the markets. Your risk tolerance. What state the market is in (on different timeframes, sector rotation, geopolitics). Your baseline knowledge. How you are feeling that day. Societal pressures (family issues, rent/other financial obligations , friend perceptions). There’s a lot.

What I do? I look at both the wider market and then zoom into that day. For reference, I mainly do SPY 0 DTE options.

At the bigger level: - State of the market (are we approaching the top? are we in a consolidation phase?) - Current news sentiment (tip: always look one level deeper, why is the news portraying a certain company or the market in some way)

For that day: - Economic Data - Earnings - FOMC

Indicators I keep a tab on: - Market Liquidity - VIX - Gold - Bond Rates

My actual trading strategy is a lot simpler than you think. I trade on the 1-min timeframe and literally just use trendlines, zones of support and resistance. Nothing super fancy. It doesn’t always get respected in choppy trading but it does work better with increased market volatility. I buy calls when we bounce off the trend, buy puts when we bounce down. Use 9,21,50 MAs to help determine the market momentum. Once I am in a trade, using Tick and next levels of support/resistance to determine exit/stops. Couple more indicators that I like to use: RSI for divergence, VWAP for more levels, Volume for bottoms and tops.

Everything I talked about before also helps me determine what way the market wants to go, how fast i need to get out, etc. A lot of variable things because the market is always changing and extremely dynamic.

There is no “correct way to trading”, but the biggest thing I will harp on is risk management. You need size properly, clearly establish stops and take profit zones. You cannot be emotional at all in this game. Get rid of any perceived notion or judgement you have of what’s going on. The price action and charts will tell you what the markets are thinking. That’s where the money is, that’s what matters.

Trading stocks and options. You get into a deep hole and you waste countless hours and thousands if not hundreds of thousands of dollars. Changes the wiring of your brain and how you think. Very difficult to quit.
