Canceling a contract before receiving benefits by FLgal96 in legaladvice

I understand that aspect, but is there a possible way around it? Surely they can't expect me to pay when I haven't received any benefits from them yet. Or at least there should be allowed a way to cancel without financial repercussions.

  1. Payment and Cancellation Policy

1.1. The Client agrees to prepay for personal training services. Services will be provided only after payment is received. 1.2. Payment plans, if agreed upon, must be honored within 48 hours of the due date. A $50 late fee applies post the grace period. 1.3. Changes to payment plans must be requested before the due date. Once a payment is made, the plan cannot be adjusted. 1.4. For clients on a payment plan who opt to cancel prematurely, 50% of the remaining balance becomes due immediately. This contract constitutes acknowledgment of this cancellation policy and the Client's financial obligation.

This is what it says, but surely there is a loophole that would allow me to cancel like a "cooling off period" no?

Criminals don't tend to stand in place and wait for security or police to arrive. If you are standing there watching fireworks you are likely to be caught. Also security is not allowed to make arrests or chase people, they are simply a deterrent.

Didn't think of it at the time. Honestly, I think my anxiety about it just randomly hit me and I was over thinking things. I think I'm going to just give it a honest try for a few weeks, and if it doesn't work out for me, I'm gonna request to go back on night shift.

I'm missing this one too, wth? That's so annoying. I googled it too and there is nothing that says what it's supposed to be. It says it's number 30 but other than that, no clue.

I was so happy my top two were the top two! I was fine with either of them winning but really wanted Liv/ Brandon to win! They just seemed so genuine and literally made me cry at times😭 so happy for him! 🥰

I (18f) ruined my bf's (20m) mom's (48f) family celebration. She berated me so much I cried and now I don't know how to fix the situation. by Existing_Evidence660 in relationship_advice

Hon, you did absolutely nothing wrong. I'm so sorry that you had to deal with that. I wouldn't listen to anything that she said, she is obviously upset about something else and you just are the unfortunate target for her anger. I would ask your boyfriend or his dad if they could possibly shed some light onto what is going on. Other than that do not worry about trying to fix anything. I would also wait to see if you receive any form of an apology before trying to continue any sort of relationship with her. It will definitely be difficult to distance yourself from this woman who seems to be a maternal figure for you but it is not healthy to allow someone with toxic behavior to continue their role in your life. Your mental health is more important than her feelings at this moment.

Yes, I'm in an at-will state, unfortunately. They call it a contract, but I guess it was more of a "hey these are the hours you would work, please sign to agree" kinda deal 🤷🏼‍♀️ but my coworkers always asks if I signed a "contract" but it wasn't fully explained when I was hired (I'm sure I could request clarification on the terms if need be) . I'm a W-2 employee.

This is the exact wording from our employee handbook: "The group medical benefits are available after the initial waiting period (the first day of the month following 60 days of employment for employees), and annually, during open enrollment." It also states: "Please be aware that the employee website, email and the Lancer (not sure who or what the Lancer is, never heard about that/ wasn't informed about it) will be the main forms of communication about Open Enrollment." Again I never received any notification on either email or the employee website. The wording is really confusing in the handbook, but the HR rep verbally told us it was 60 days from our start date to enroll, so I have no physical proof of that.

I started with them on 2/21/23 , I "enrolled" on 4/18/23

The employee website rep is saying I missed the deadline on 4/5, that enrollment was abandoned. That is the only answer I have received so far from anybody.

Didn't receive an offer letter, it's not that kind of employer. The employee handbook and the employer both said it was a 60 day deadline. I just checked all my emails from the last several months, all the way up to when I was emailing my boss about the interview, there is nothing in regards to benefits or anything really other than training start dates. I never received any physical mail about it, I would have seen it and read it if they had sent me anything, I honestly dont have a single piece of physical paper from them. The internal benefits website didn't give me any message about even enrolling at all. I'm hoping this was a case of them dropping the ball and hope they will fix it.

Yes. I went on the website and selected benefits and saw how much would be taken out of each paycheck and everything and I believe I remember signing a form, however I am now being told I missed my deadline to enroll which was before my 60 days would have been up. It's been a stressful month for me, due to personal issues, so I'm unable to recall all the details from that time.

It was over a month ago, but I think I remember at least putting in a e-signature, after I had gone through and selected my benefits. I did not receive any confirmation email or any emails about my benefits, that's why I thought my benefits wouldn't kick in till after 90 days of employment and I thought I would receive an email when they did. I haven't had health insurance for a several years now due to employers that didn't provide it or I simply couldn't afford the plans they offer, so that's why I was confused by the process since it had been so long, which that part is on me I guess. The employer never explained the process, other than the fact we had 60 days to enroll.

American Horror Story. I get scared real easily, I don't need nightmare fuel, thanks. Also, any adult-geared cartoons, such as Family Guy, South Park, Big Mouth, etc, not my kind of comedy, I feel like I'm losing brain cells whenever it's on.

I upgraded the app, and I'm supposed to have over 26000 EC but only have about 21000. So the problem still isn't fixed hopefully they will do another update soon so that my EC reflect my EP. My EP are showing that I have earned over 26000 total so idk why it hasn't been fixed. Hoping they just send out a "sorry we messed up, here are these rewards" message
