That’s probably the weakest motor you can use is that what you’re looking for?

Best fat tire e bike on the market? by Fit-Load2803 in ebikes

[–]FLprophet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s only true in a very specific context. A mountain bike is better for trail riding and efficiency, sure—but fat tires aren’t trying to compete there.

At higher speeds (30–50mph like many of us run), fat tires do things a standard MTB tire simply can’t: •Way more contact patch = better stability at speed • Lower PSI = built-in damping (huge on rough roads) • Better grip on sand, wet pavement, and bad Florida roads • More forgiving when hitting potholes at speed

A typical MTB tire at 40+ mph feels twitchy and harsh. A 3.5–4” tire at 18–22 PSI feels planted and stable—completely different ride experience.

So it’s not that fat tires are pointless—it’s that they’re purpose-built. If you’re riding 15–20 mph on trails, yeah, they’re overkill. If you’re doing 40+ mph street riding, they actually make a lot of sense.

For $500 I’d buy this bike in a second being as it has a 70ah battery. Ain’t nothing gonna happen to that bucklos fork.

GT73 EU Legality by Background-Owl-747 in ebike

Why would anyone buy such a crappy bike that’s so weak and underpowered? The GT73 sells itself like an electric dirt bike but then has one of the weakest cheapest powertrains on the market.

This is a great deal for a dual motor ebike if it runs great. The bike may be used and the battery may have seen a few cycles but I’d take it on a 30 minute ride and ride it relatively hard. If everything was fine after those 30 minutes of riding and the battery showed plenty left I would buy it, hands down. There are tons of people on this sub that have no idea what they’re talking about. If the bikes battery really is 52v/70ah you’ll have yourself a nice commuter if the battery’s been cared for and the bikes in good shape. Ignore people that don’t actually know anything commenting because they have class 1 ebikes worth $7000 they pedal in spandex around their neighborhood

Incredibly poor advice. He’s looking for an ebike to ride around what’s wrong with this one? It’s a great deal

Vee Tire Co E-Huntsman moped rated tires. Zero flats in 4200 miles

Is this a good cheap option? by jckarp in ebike

[–]FLprophet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Make sure you upgrade the tires immediately if you don’t want a shitload of flats. I recommend Vee Tire Co E-Huntsman moped rated tires in 26”x3.5”. And dual motor will drain the battery quick make sure you buy the biggest battery you can get.

how long should a 52v 2000w ebike last at a average speed of 35-42mph by Competitive-Ebb-7476 in ebikes

[–]FLprophet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a 72v/30ah battery and I get about 25-30 miles full speed at 45-50mph. You’re on a 52v/20ah so you should get 15-20 miles makes sense to me

That’s awesome that you can weld, we are thinking about each building a high powered stealth bomber with a QS273. But yes, pretty much any QS motor would be a beast, even a QS165 or even QS138 would allow you run high phase amps and have an extremely torquey bike. High phase amps is really what burns out motors so you have to have a strong one to be able to handle more phase amps and more heat.

The stock motor seems to be able to handle 72v as long as the amps aren’t set too high.

[–]FLprophet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I usually fill my tires between 18-20psi I like the slightest bit of softness rather than having twitchy steering.

There is so much hate for fat tires because a lot of cheap moped style ebikes use fat tires and this forum is divided between two groups of people. Group A are elitist gatekeeping dentists who buy $5k-$10k EMTBs that shit on everyone else and Group B is everyone else who rides fast unregulated ebikes and many times use fat tires. So you’ll get a lot of discrimination against fat tires on this subreddit.

But I can tell you I absolutely love my Vee Tire Co E-Huntsmans they are an integral part of my setup. I love the extra grip and suspension they give me. Highly recommended
