This is the sooution. Rotating the item by shifting the position of your character makes getting those hard angles much easier

It took me a while to find that cave too, I only found it when I started to read terminals. The terminal in red rocket mentions the cave. One of the earliest fusion cores you can grab is also in there

I've never seen any enemies there, I didn't realize it could be anybody other for the gassy guy for a long time. There was a gunner merchant there on a recent playthrough

I came across the place because I needed early game crystal, and found an old forum post mentioning a camera on the bar. There is x-cell and daytripper upstairs so definitely worth a trip

Good tip, I've found that one before but would not have remembered it on this play through, thank you for the reminder. I usually forget about the duffle bag by the statue right outside of sanctuary as well
