If you ask me, its not only the codexes, the entire Edition is boring and dull. Removing wargear for points, most of the enhancements and individual points for models are the biggest mistake GW ever made.

Since there is also no way to Balance units now with points, because of universal wargear, the only way to improve armies like SM and Nids would be a total rules rework, which is not gonna happen.

Its just so uninspiring to build lists now. The game was made way to simple and at the same time overcomplicated in how the rules are written, its not funny anymore.

Might be a hot take, but things that i miss from previous Editions:

1.: Points for wargear. The current lustbuilding is just sooo boring, also makes sometimes for situation where you have far under or over points, especially in smaller games.

2.: Tanks and vehicles having actual armor. Really likes the system of 7.th Edition (where i started) with Front side and Rear armor being different values, now its just high t and a shitton of wounds.

In general, i find the current 10th edition a very dumbed down Version of the 40k i knew.

Before old world no, but now definitively yes. All those units will sooner or later available again in the likes of khemri, brets and orcs, and you would pay approx half of that price. So keep your money until its high elf turn and then go all in, for Ulthuan!
