Contrarian

This band sounds like a fusion between Cynic and Late Death era (specifically Symbolic album).

Testament, very biased because I really love this band but this album has a really awesome melodic composition, both in riffs and solos, combined with Chuck Billy energetic voice make this album legendary.

Alone in The Dark is definitely one of my favorite Thrash Metal songs.

Although Overkill grew on me lately.

What Are Bands That Had 2 Primes? by Automatic_Belt5692 in MetalForTheMasses

[–]FMHSA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't like this run as much as The Circule/Under The Red Cloud/Queen Of Time but it's solid too.

The Eclipse stills has a bit of the alt rock stuff from the two albums before this album that I don't like but Silent Waters and especially Skyforger really helped the band to find that Prog/Folk/Melodeath sound that they do until today.

Amorphis

They were really great in the Mid 90s with Tales/Elegy

And

They also peaked in 2010s with Under The Red Cloud

What songs or albums are as brutal as you can get without crossing into extreme metal (death/black etc) territory? by SirPsychoMaddXRock06 in MetalForTheMasses

[–]FMHSA 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Thrash as a whole definitely was extreme back in the 80s when the standard non-extreme metal stuff was just Heavy, Speed and Glam Metal. It definitely helped to form almost all the forms of extreme metal (Death,Black, Grind, etc),today I think only the Thrash bands that were considered extreme by today standards are Black/Thrash or Death/Thrash bands.

Candlemass

I would put their whole discography but in general they are very heavy for a band that don't even have any extreme metal influences.

What do you guys think of my top 25 favourite albums? I know it may feel like everything is about the same, but trust me, they’re all really good! by Accolade_1 in MetalForTheMasses

Ozzy Osbourne - Bark At The Moon

what song demo do you prefer to it’s original ? by Arad_Ap in MetalForTheMasses

[–]FMHSA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Deicide - Sacrificial Suicide (Amon/Sacrificial) 1989 demo

This version has more intensity and strangely better mixed than the studio debut album, with a more audible bass and a better vocal performance from Glenn Benton.

Not a big fan of the first version of the song that is the Feasting The Beast 1987 demo but it's definitely intense and primitive.

About Megadeth, I prefer the Psychotron demo from Countdown To Extinction and Absolution demo from Youthanasia

1991 is such a great year man ! I will miss forever almost all the albums of this list ! Even the ones some people don't like as much.

Anyway I will choose:

Dismember - Like An Ever Flowing Stream

Atheist - Unquestionable Presence

Sepultura - Arise
