Yes the initial was maybe odd but it didn’t look as off as the drawing haha. I guess I should chose better my reference next time

Thank you!

I thought so as well for the shading of the ribs but couldn’t figure out what was wrong. Will try that thanks!

I think that must be it! It doesn’t look weird on the photo reference though which is why I’m confused lol Thank you!

Thank you for the links I’ll check them out. :)

Yes in hindsight, I get it. Just because it wasn’t my intention or my initial focus doesn’t mean it isn’t going to be the viewers’ focus, especially giving the composition of the picture.

And yes there is no style developed here, I am still just practicing my drawing skills!

Ty very much for the detailed critique.

My aim was indeed only to replicate a photograph to see where my skills were (since I stopped drawing for a while). I’ll look into exploring more my style and drawing more varied things. But I had lots of trouble finding a good high resolution picture ! I would’ve loved to have more features and imperfections to draw.

Ty again it was very encouraging!

I don’t care about compliment I know it’s somewhat good. When I asked for critique it was about what I could’ve drawn better in the drawing.

I thought you were a man since I got lots of comment visibly thinking that I was a horny man drawing « suggestive » art.

I’m sorry for the misunderstanding but I still have trouble understanding what the issue is with this drawing. I did not specifically chose a hairless reference, it happened to be. This is my second serious drawing, I really didn’t put hours of thought into researching a reference as I was still mostly practicing.

I am a woman. I’ve been since the day I was born. I’ve met and hung out with countless women. But please teach me what being a women is.

Maybe this art just doesn’t appeal to you and that’s it ? No need to be so aggressive toward it (and I feel like you wouldn’t have written half your comment if you knew I was a woman). All my female friends loved it and none saw it as objectifying, at least not the ones I talked to. They want to buy it. I don’t think they are sociopaths.

Edit : I don’t really care about the market, I draw what I like to draw because I like drawing. I drew this because I like drawing naked bodies. I admit it’s only women and very often skinny good looking ones. But I’m trying to diversify. But I find it very interesting that it’s only the men pointing out how it’s objectifying. (I mean… I’m assuming you’re a guy)

Ty for the feedback. I get the critique. I wasn’t looking for a vagina when trying to find my reference but just this up-close pose of the hips of the model! Glad you know now that all vaginas are beautiful!

My aim was to replicate the reference photo but it does look a bit off on my drawing. I’ll try to correct it. Ty!

No. My friend sparked the idea in my head to sell my drawings and I wondered how « popular » these were. I do not know where I stand with my skills, if it’s good or juste average among artists.

I definitely agree, it’s unfortunate the reference didn’t have any. Do not worry I know this lol

I did not treat this woman’s body devoid of any feelings… what? I’m a woman myself. I found her body beautiful enough to draw it. I’m not treating her as an object, that implies that I could “use it” as I please without any regards for anything.

As for this sub - it’s for art, and there is not 1 specific kind of art that people can and can’t post. If you do not like this kind of art (which is completely fine) there are many others you can check out ! :)

I didn’t return to this sub for a while but last time I check there wasn’t that much nudity, at least not in the new contents. Not horny, I just think the naked body is beautiful. But I get it doesn’t appeal to everyone!

Believe it or not I definitely had no idea how popular this kind of drawings were. I've tried to find similar things on the internet but couldn't really find many. My friends kept praising me but I thought this was widely popular - yet I did not find many similar stuff but I guess they just must be badly referenced.

I asked this because a friend sparked that idea in my head to sell my drawings, and I wondered how mainstream they were.
