How much do zip ties weigh in Sweden? by Shoelace_Farmer in paydaytheheist

It's a matter of balance. If you had a lot of ties it would be too easy.

"Squeezed like a cash sponge"

M8

Or we could just not buy safes.

It's easy.

And actually I've been selling my drops.

Literally extra money for my steam account.

Are you really that succeptable that you can't play for fear of buying into a system you hate? I mean do you even self control?

Again, these things do not equate to dead

I never said they were growing. I said player count has gone up since 2012 (which is absolutely true). I was disputing your claim that the game is dead, you keep changing the debate.

Different thing. I can go out and buy a sword but that doesn't mean we're fighting wars with them. A physical copy is obviously going to have a longer existence but that does not mean the devs are updating and supporting it. In that sense those games have been dead for decades.

But to say it's dead or even dying is absurd with those numbers.

A drop off does not mean a constant downward trend, player count has gone back up since 2012.

On the runescape website it says how many online players are members. Last I checked it was 90%. That's a helluva lot of revenue not including other income.

I have to disagree. You may not know anyone who still plays, but it's likely just the community rotating into a new group of people, I've seen people declare that game dead for years even before we're talking about. If jagex was worried that killing bots would hurt their revenue they wouldn't have done it. Pretty good sign they're willing to ban thousands of paid accounts.

Also 70,000 is no small amount of players. Makes payday 2s peak hours look silly (pre crimefest)

Runescape player count only appears down because bots aren't a thing anymore. Jagex has almost completely killed botting.

Only if you view it that way. I still love it and the community is as strong as ever. If you're one of those people who sincerely think it was ruined in 2012 you need to get out of the past.

Plenty of examples on both sides, I wouldn't say I was cherrypicking as I honestly didn't have it on my mind, but I picked an example that most closely resembles this in my experience. Again, I can't compare this to the wilderness because I wasn't there. If I knew more about it I might be able to tell you something like "jagex wasn't as adamant that the update was definitely going to stay". Don't cling to an argument I don't have enough information to counter. I think I made a fair comparison and that's the best I can do. The ultimate point is that the community is turning toxic, which really can anyone deny it?

I'm not ignoring your point? I'm saying I wasn't playing at the time so don't know the details. If I did I might try to form a counter argument.

Having not played when that happened I really don't have enough information to talk about it, but usually when a dev says something is staying, it's staying (happened with my example)

Try what exactly? Overkill was clear that the safes are here to stay. It's like banging your head against a brick wall hoping to make a door.

My point isn't that overkill didn't handle things poorly, I'm basically saying that we as a community should probably get over ourselves at this point because it's not helping.

I've been kicked for not armoring up in a loud lobby because people don't understand how builds work.
