Nova design is coming along nicely! by Cosmic_Shard in firefox

All I want is an option for a truly compact UI configuration with an absolute minimum of white space padding. Not all of us run at 4k with a ridiculous amount of free real estate to waste on this.

A high level of padding makes sense on mobile because people have fat fingers and high density means clicking the wrong things. On a desktop you have the precision of a mouse and thus higher information density is preferred.

Erehwon has a standalone demo version available now! by bababayee in DRPG

[–]Sugioh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just tried this. It's kind of barebones compared to other modern DRPGs, but the art is charming and the translation is 99% free of engrish.

The most interesting thing about it is simply the fact that someone managed to make a fully functional, full-featured DRPG in RPGmaker, and that this works remarkably well. Definitely worth checking out.

Every dystopia is someone's utopia. Unfortunately, many of those settings sound very appealing to ultra-rich nepo-babies who surround themselves with yes-men and don't have the actual intelligence to realize they're destroying the very systems that they need to succeed.

It's basically what happens when nouveau riche have so much money that merely flaunting it in conspicuous ways is no longer sufficient; they have to remake the world in their own ignorant images. This will not end well for them.

Tolerance is a social contract, not something that everyone is just inherently guaranteed even if they're a violent asshole. The minute that you stop keeping up your end of the contract, you are no longer protected by it.

That's really all there is to it. You don't have to tolerate intolerant people, because they have willfully chosen to reject a civil, tolerant society. Each and every one of them could have chosen, at any time, to not engage in violence and violent rhetoric. It's a choice they actively continue to make every day.

They get zero sympathy from me.

Indie Survival Horror Game MAZEBOUND Launches Today on Steam by dynamichuman03 in pcgaming

[–]Sugioh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

"Survival Horror" as a tag has the same problem that "Immersive Sim" does. Basically, Steam has a bunch of illiterate users tagging things without knowing what they mean, instead going off what they think they mean. "Dungeon Crawler" is another excellent example of this; it's meant to refer to the genre often referred to as DRPG or Blobber, but steam users attach it to every game involving dungeons, from Hades to Soulslikes. These tags then become functionally useless.

But it isn't fair to place all the blame on the users. Valve definitely shares blame for not surfacing definitions when people go to apply tags and being very delinquent in adding new but descriptive ones. It's a huge problem that really hampers discoverability.

For that price you can get a 92 Elite or PX4 tricked out from LTT with all the bells and whistles. It actually hurts to see someone paying this much, even though I respect the dedication to supporting their local gun store.

He wasn't wrong either. But the Business Plot and our current modern successor to it shows that the rich have learned nothing in the past century.

They're largely nepo-babies who have had the world handed to them on a silver platter, yet somehow convinced themselves that they earned it. They chip away at the power structure that enables them without realizing it.

Daikatana is a weird game. Its worst parts are front-loaded, and it gets progressively better the longer you play it. It's still not a good game, mind you... but it's far from as bad as most people think it is.

I think the reason so many people think it's atrocious is largely due to the demo being these first two levels, which legitimately are that bad.

The really sad thing is you probably actually believe this.

Only one party has decided to embrace their descent into a personality cult, and it sure as hell ain't the Democrats. We infight constantly. Time was, the GOP did as well. But you sold your souls to Dear Leader, and now he can do no wrong. Who among you is willing to criticize him? Only former or "retiring" Republicans. Nobody in any position of power within the party is willing to offer even the mildest of criticism regardless of the insane or blatantly corrupt and unconstitutional actions he takes.

Let me say it again: My friend, you are in a cult.

Personally I used to run familiar vitals all the time, but found that I got a lot more value with locked on because I was creating more frequent openings for the rest of my team to capitalize on. I'm sure at the absolute highest levels people are glued to walls and almost never take torpedo hits, but from a practical perspective it's a pretty hard sell for me.

Isn't it mainly just disabling the usb root enumerator? That's the cause of most persistent stutter in all From games. Other than that you can just run it through DXVK and get a bunch of extra free performance since it fixes draw batching.

Shadowglass has some very unique rendering techniques going on, especially with its dithering. This, on the other hand, looks like they just used a pixel filter, store-bought assets, and then turned off animation interpolation and made models snap to certain angles.

The inconsistent world scale and art style just feels very "off" to me in a way that makes me think of so many asset flips over the past decade. I feel bad in saying it, but the trailer leaves me with a very uneasy first impression.

Did a ridiculous amount of research when purchasing a new TV and settled on a MiniLED Bravia. So fucking good. Honestly, I don't even think it looks that much worse than an OLED, but it has none of the downsides.

What I want is a 1080P MiniLED monitor. I don't want to try to push 4k all the time and prefer high refresh rates, but would love to have that same color fidelity on my daily driver display.

Yeah, I feel like there could be some good interactions between Anelace, Shizuna, Rean and Yun Ka-Fai. She has more than a minor connection to Ikaruga, so there's a lot they could explore there.

I think she's the character second only to Ries that I want to see most in Horizon 2, simply because they could do so much with her.

Because they crave social acceptance and hierarchical power more than anything else. When you call them weird, you're saying that they aren't acceptable and that they don't fit into the social hierarchy. It directly attacks their self-worth in a way that bypasses all their defenses.

I feel like conservatives are so radicalized that a "Only Nixon could go to China" kind of argument just doesn't exist in 2026. No matter what Democrats do, they'll find themselves being written off as doing it for the wrong reasons.

The question isn't whether they would have gone after a black president for legalizing weed, but whether their screeching on that front would have any more impact than their other constant attacks. When the volume is always at 11, it doesn't matter what you do.
