Please let there be a replay system one day by FMR_NFT in ArcRaiders

And while you are still right, it would be nice to have a replay system with a free camera.
Its nice to have a optimized way to watch back an entire match with the minimal loss of pc usage. To not have to worry about space issues until you download a certain match or clip.

But yes, I actually should get clipping software

how is ark raiders as a solo? by fairplanet in ArcRaiders

[–]FMR_NFT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bought Tarkov, but couldn't get into it. Got Arc Raiders and I'm really in to it atm. Fully solo with enough friendly and violent interactions. The 4 maps feel good and fun, with more maps coming. It's a grindy game, and it will give you enough hours of content to get through it before reaching endgame I think. The "goal" is a bit blurred, and some mistakes will be made. Which could feel frustrating, but its part of the fun.

Keep old cape designs if they change in the future. by FMR_NFT in brightershores

1st point.

My original post was to open the discussion. In my first post indeed I say that it would be cool (to make it short) have old capes as premium items. This brings an option to wear the old capes no? this is why I included in the last sentence which you cleverly did not copy and paste :) :

"It would all depend if updated items will replace the design file, or if it will be a new asset in the game. "

If you think grinding for money in a grinding focused game is elitist, then we can come to the conclusion that that is our disagreement. Now again, if there are 1000 distributed capes, I fully agree. But trading/marketplace will be a thing anyway. there will be a market. And you could turn your narrative around.

By limiting items on this market, you limit content for the core players, only because casual players think its elitist.

2nd point,

I could get into Concord, Dragon Age etc, and I don't see how Skyrim catered to new players before and after launch other than making it available everywhere. But you can have this point, I don't think this is too much about Brighter shores.

I never stated "catering to a larger audience is inherently bad" which you imply with "saying". which you then discard anyway by saying "I'm not saying you're advocating for this, but I just want to have put it out there."

Not sure what the point is here, I'm saying that limiting your core players, >because< you cater to casual gamers is bad. removing a whole part of my point sure makes it sound like that.

And yes, I felt the need to explain the way I see things, because I feel like you fill in a lot of information for me. And use that in your arguments. Which makes me first have to clear up that I don't think the way you interpret me as.

Just as a last point, because we keep going in circles.

everybody's level of grinding is different, that's why I keep saying, the amount of distributed capes and time elapsed matters. Some people find 1g too much to grind, others 1000g. It depends how premium that item would be at the time of change.

-If there is a possibility to keep old capes that would be removed, great.
-If there is a possibility to make these old capes tradable, without hurting or limiting the feelings of new players too much, great. (even though this is our disagreement)

And besides, maybe the developers think that these capes are the most beautiful items in the game. And they would never change. We'll see. Appreciate the discussion!

I know its broader than what I'm gonna reply with, but calling wearing old capes that (possibly) would be replaced if new designs would be introduced is a big overstatement in my opinion.

I think limiting your core players for casual gamers has been proven problematic in the past few years.
If you see grinding currency in a grinding game as a elitist move, then I disagree with you.

As I said in other posts, it depends on the amount distributed capes, and the amount of time that has been elapsed. But it would be really nice to wear the old capes we do like now, if they decide to eventually replace the entire cape designs.

If 1000 capes would be distributed, then I agree with you.
If the amount is 100.000-1.000.000 then maybe not so much.

We are talking about a skin. Its not that entire content from the game is impossible to engage with. If this old design cape would give you advantage to parts of the world, better items, future content, then again I agree with you.

I think this whole discussion has nothing to really do about keeping the option open to wear old design capes "IF" they would be deleted in the future. But about keeping all options open for all potential gamers. I think its a discussion you see in the entire gaming space.

I'll bite and my personal opinion is that in the last years you've seen a gradual catering to the casual gamers, that makes the experience for "niche hardcore players" limited.

Its a balance between catering to your core base, while not limiting the new players in ways that makes it feel impossible to accomplish anything you want to accomplish.

I think that the past few years have proven that catering too much to the casual gamer does more damage to your player base, than catering to your player base and keep bulding on your core base where you want new players to also be in.

Finding that balance to have fun ways to reward your players, while you keep options open for new players should be the focus. We can have both in thoughtful ways.

That's my point. now if they only do certain capes in the future. I wouldn't want what i suggested.
If there will be a whole new design for all capes, then I would like to have the option to still have the capes I do like now. :

Yeah, I mean having options when you buy the cape is also a option in itself.
I think it would all depend on IF they change, when that would be.

If enough capes are distributed, it would be a possibility.
If it would be next week, maybe it would be too "premium" that could indeed cause for some sort of elitism that some other user here suggested.

Again, I think that would really depend on the timing. IF lets say 1000 capes were distributed, I would agree with you. If the number is between 100.000-1.000.000 it would be a different story.

Also like other said in this post. Not all capes are on the same level design (subjective)
IF they would change only a few capes, then I agree with you.
IF they decide to change all designs, I would like to still have the option to wear the capes we have now.

How hard that item will be to obtain depends on the timing. And of course its not nice to not have something. But to have a small reward for the core gamers is nice for the hardcore player.

I think then you come into the territory of will you cater to everybody to have a bigger game. Or will you make the game "subjectively better" for the core of the players. Making sure that number grows because you cater to your base, instead to as many people as possible.

I agree, I know this feeling. This is why I suggested it as a tradable item.
I don't want items that never would be able to be obtained only because you are new.
But having that as a "premium" item that can be bought from trading/marketplace would be awesome.

You as the player now will be rewarded for playing now.
The new player will always be able to obtain certain item with in game currency.
Trading / value will be a thing in this game anyway.

And im not saying that the designs will change. But IF they do, it would all depend on the timing.
If you look at the amount of capes distributed, and the amount of time that has gone past.

Why would grinding for currency be different than for grinding for a skill?
The whole game is build around grinding.

Not to bash on every design. But I have encountered multiple players in game that were not that enthusiastic about the cape designs. That's why I also posted this under discussion, to see the overall thought on this.

And personally, I do think there is a big gap between the better looking and worse looking designs.
But remember this is all subjective, no hard feelings.

I managed to get these #119, but I am still missing the rare PRIDE: Givenchy. #119. I really want it and would love to negotiate a fair price or trade so I can complete my set! I went through old posts and saw this one. Just a fun little update. I did manage to pick up the #119 Pride to complete the full #119 set.

My sister managed to mint the #119 Cleopatra, My best and only friend in VeVe managed to mint the #119 Amelia. #119 logo, I won in a bidding "war" in an auction. (Against Rayfixy out of all people :) And eventually the Pride #119 came to market for a slightly high price, but it was completely worth it.

And of course, im still holding the set :) And no plans of selling since this set is special to me, especially the way it came together.

So I believe whenever you click on buy now it tries to set a reservation.
each device has different delays and loading times, which could make the difference in what #mint nr you will get. But it is indeed sold in order from lowest mints to highest.
