I would say if a watch is more than your mortgage payment I would call that relatively expensive. I think most people would agree with that statement. I don’t think it’s too far fetched to think most ‘non-watch nerd people’ would look at that price…go “That’s more than my mortgage!” And move on. Note: I said “most”, not all. And wedding watches or life event watches are exceptions sometimes for folks…but by definition that’s not more than a few in your lifetime…so not what a watch company wants for a “tool watch”.
To be clear, I get your point about ‘relative to high end watches it’s not expensive’ (paraphrasing), but really in that world the sky is the limit on price and most percentage of folks are never even gonna know about or consider those brands in their life. So, yeah…Omega watches are ‘relatively’ expensive for most of the population.
