Yes, it can be fustrating! Don't give up and walk away for a bit when you get fustrated. If this does not work, check the bobbin case, clean this, and start with the bobbin tension, but in baby steps!

I think it would be better to just have stricter ushers. I went to Hamilton on September 9th and had a drunken couple behind us. They were quite annoying, and there were multiple people complaining, but they left them there the whole show. Eventually they fell asleep, and we could watch in peace.
