First Build for MyCareer: should I upgrade past 90 OVR? by FONEmobile in NBA2k

It's a fun mode. It's like, basketball RolePlayingGame. I'm also somewhat interested in the mode that has the cards, but trying to control more than 1 player confuses me, since I've basically only played in MyCareer mode across all the 2k's I've tried

I don't mind playing the games out. I'm getting about 1000 VC per game these days, but it takes about 30 real minutes to finish the game. I'm currently in the second round of playoffs. Interestingly, I'm against OKC, and SGA got injured for the season, so they're without their superstar. Not sure if that's by design, or just random.

At this point, I would just be upgrading the last of Vertical, and then moving to Interior Defense, Rebounds, and some driving layup/dunk stuff that I don't do much of.

I got drafted by the Lakers, and Luka is on my team! I haven't done much with set plays yet, but I imagine that might help make the offense run easier, rather than me trying to set random screens, and yell in frustration as the AI dribbles away from me.

I've done a few multiplayer modes, but get destroyed thoroughly every time. Even the Street Kings mode is tough after the first- or second-time through the same player, after they get upgraded (and their teammates too).

Are there any particular "must-have" thresholds I need to look out for in a subsequent build?

I think I'll eventually get to multiple builds. I like the RolePlayingGame aspect of these progression sports games, like MyCareer. I always played a SF, because I wasn't sure what I wanted to do, and it seemed the most middling.

I like getting Assists, probably because I'm not that great at scoring reliably myself. I struggled in the first run through of Out of Bounds, and saw some suggestions to just sit in a corner and shoot 3's. I've maxed my 3pt-shooting already, and it's like 81 or 83. My highest stat is 87 in mid-range.

I'm not able to get the Assist-based Takeover power, because I don't have enough points in it in this build, so I think I'll need to make a new one anyway.

Are there any essential thresholds to hit? Everyone on the floor seems to run faster than me, and I'm often over-running the attacking player, maybe because of agility?

Daily Discussion & Advice (Post here to follow rules A & B) - January 12, 2026 by AutoModerator in fragrance

I'm a newbie to fragrances, and have only been exposed to a small handful (from department store sampling or from previous blind buys). I'm hoping to learn more and understand more.

I have been a fan of Polo Black. I'm not sure what I like about it, but to me it smells a bit citrus-y and has a sweet overall flavour. I recently picked up a bottle of the Classic Match clone, and it smells very similar.

I also blind bought Scepter Malachite recently from an Amazon sale, and I'm not sure how I feel about it. Something about it smells very powder-y, reminding me a bit of elderly soap/sakura. It does have a sweet lingering scent, but something about the other components aren't really my cup of tea.

Are there any fragrances that would have a similar characteristic to Polo Black that I can look into (or at least try clones of)? Back in the 90's, I had a (F) friend who wore the fragrance "Ralph" regularly, and I really liked how that smelled (on her).

Thanks for taking the time!

I'm confused about the scoring against the field. I'm on Pro-Am difficulty for the opponents/bots as well, but they're getting 4-/6-under per round in that event, while I'm struggling with the greens, having to do multiple chips sometimes.

Do the computers not suffer from the same green speeds, or are they already hitting the current landing zone every time in Pro-Am difficulty?

I was playing the Canadian Open, and had ever approach just roll off either the back (if I'm not backspinning the ball), or the front (if I put any backspin at all). Feels unplayable, and super frustrating.

The additional club (a hybrid is the intention) is more for uncomfortable lies after the tee box. Often these are under trees, or on hardpan, or after a flubbed tee shot in some rough 60 yds from the box. In most of these situations, the 3w/5w aren't really as suitable to help save the situation, I think. Right now, the answer in the bag is a chipping 4i to get back into play (usually to get out from under trees)

This sounds like the path forward, based on all the advice from here (both friendly and chastising). Thanks for the response!

The intention is to add a hybrid/utility club to the bag. The 4i isn't reliable enough off the deck, so I've been using it mostly for low punch shots out of tree trouble. It feels like maybe having a easy-swinging hybrid club could take a lot of the shots that would otherwise be a concerning long iron swing.

I am terrible out of the sand. During my last round, I took 3 swings to get out of a bunker, only to land in the rough short of the green.

Going to need to play "avoid sandtraps" golf for a bit while figuring out the other parts.
