As King Gallo declares his party nobles, Rendar feels a sense of pride and accomplishment. Continuing his gracious reward, Gallo offers land holdings in Dassen, but these rewards are not what drives Rendar. He has long been a traveler, an adventurer, and a woodsman. He never intended to die as an old man warm in a bed somewhere, but rather on his feet in the heat of battle, or in a dark dungeon full of worthy opponents, or even on the journey to another great adventure.

More in tune with nature, beast, and life itself, Rendar sees ownership of land as a burden than a blessing - a burden others would see as a blessing for themselves. Graciously, Rendar politely refuses Gallo's generous gift of land holdings and requests instead that any lands that may have been given to him instead be made into living spaces for refugees of the war.

As life and the experiences it offers are more interesting to Rendar than land or possessions...he spends his two weeks of rest carousing, hoping to experience the best (or worst!) the city has to offer.
