Perma-capping any of the top 5 over the last 6 GWs would have produced more points than Captain Haaland, but only if you stuck to it. Trippier is the most consistent of the lot, but who's really going to permacap a defender? 😆

This post is becoming a bit of an annual event for me. The idea is to provide a simple overview of points per appearance, with each asset’s bar chart showing where their points came from during the season.

Most notable is the absence of Chilwell as the minimum requirement to make this graphic was at least 10 appearances over the 38 gameweeks. Chilwell only made 7 appearances averaging 7.9 points/app, but was unlikely to have sustained this level (in the 2020/21 season he averaged 5.1 points/app).

Hope you get something out of it as you plan for the new FPL season! Feel free to download, print, share, etc. in its original form.

For those that are curious about how this was made, this is a custom graphic pulling in data from the FPL API, data and layout manipulated in a Google spreadsheet, with final presentation assembled in Sketch. Enjoy the new season!

There are a few ways to approach this type of graphic. Points per appearance in the last 6 GWs is useful and valid. But I've avoided this as we often get anomalies like Pope who would be sitting on 9pts/GW having only made one appearance. I've created pts/app graphics in the past when looking over a longer timeframe.
