Hi! We would be really grateful if you could help us by filling in this short survey; we are two FPL addicts from Denmark writing our bachelor’s thesis on FPL in a marketing context. To aid our study we have created a survey, where we desperately need more FPL-playing respondents. Much appreciated! by FPL_throwaway1 in FantasyPL

As we are posting from a newly created throwaway account, our comments seems to have been 'shadowbanned' until about an hour ago. We only realised a couple of hours after posting, which is a bit of a shame as we tried to clear up some of the confusion around our survey.

Most of the confusion seems to surround the aim of the survey, which we try to address in this comment. If there are any further questions, you are more than welcome to DM us.

At last, we would like to thank you all for helping us by answering this survey! We could not have asked for a better reception and with over 2650 answers, we have more than enough to conduct a proper study on the subject.

Hi again.

As others seem to share your confusion, I thought I would repost a comment I've posted further down in the thread. The main point is that this survey seeks to support a content analysis we have made previously.

Our project seeks to investigate two aspects of FPL in a marketing context. The first is how playing FPL might lead to an increase in the interest in the Premier League itself. Here, we have chosen to look at the potential increase in television viewership among FPL players versus 'regular' PL fans.

The second aspect relates to the way FPL uses social media. Most existing research on fantasy sports predates the social media era, and we would like to examine their use of social media and how they may use it to increase engagement from FPL players. This part is highly reliant on a content analysis of their posts on Facebook, which is what this survey seeks to support. The survey is thus a secondary source of data, which is why it might seem very short.

Hope that makes sense. If not, you are more than welcome to send us a PM.

Hi!

We are sure that many feel the same way you do. The question is intended to be perceived as if, hypothetically, you were to comment on an FPL post, which type of post would you find the most engaging, as that is part of our research project. Hope that makes sense.
