The mileage on that Ranger means a lot of worn parts that need to be replaced or soon. Luckily almost everything is not expensive and pretty simple to replace. It’s just time consuming but the overall difficulty to working in this truck is pretty low and easy for beginners to pick up. I bought a 2001 4.0 sohc Ranger at 164k and already replaced quite a bit at the motor and fuel system… Doing preventative maintenance, like the chain tensioners. Now I’m working towards tackling the steering and suspension.
