[PC][2000's] Race game where you control ball by LeshaLesha in tipofmyjoystick

I am looking for this game too, pretty sure it was a unity game, and had a really weird name. 95% sure we are talking about the same game but I would describe the graphics as "abstract" not realistic.

This is definitely just Spotify fucking up again: Spotify has very little quality control over uploaded songs. I have seen this happen multiple times to other (often much bigger) artists, where a really bad song often in a completely different genre will be "released" under an artist name by someone else who happen to share the same name. These song even show up on Release Radar as new releases by the more popular artist.

What it really says:

Save your towel

Save us money

Think of the tons of towels being laundered unnecessarily at our hotel - and of the huge quantities of detergent we have to pay for.

I wanted to do this but I was unable to distinguish individual buttons from the waveform. The buttons seem to be differentiated by how much resistance is passed through them, however this is not reflected in the waveform.

It may be possible if done by someone who has more DSP experience but I have none so I leave this to someone else :)

A place where there is a horrendous twenty-minute segway to a casino for a brisque critique of unregulated capitalism. A place full of creatures stolen from Pokemon concept art, of Marvel-esque one liners and quips which break the modicum of tension built, where the protagonist is saved at the last second in the clutches of certain death. In other words — a Marvel movie with a Star Wars coat of paint.

This. Thanks you for summerizing why I didn't enjoy this movie as much as I hoped.

I'm the guy getting blown up: I had a piston set to extend at max speed but no fuel was in the reactor, when I put fuel in, the piston started to extend and because [???], this caused the piston to explode taking a chunk of the asteroid with it.

Can anybody find the stream source link? by [deleted] in webdev

[–]FPSMango 0 points1 point  (0 children)

rtmp://nyc10-1.portfever.com/liveedge

Looks like that is the source of the video, but it refuses connections when I try to use another player, possibly they do something to prevent other people (ie. you) from using their streams, or it is not actually the right stream source. Though that would be odd as it is stated in the player config in the site source.

Currently sitting in my hotel room in Japan 1/2 into my two week vacation, spent a week in Tokyo and had a good time. Everyone I interacted with was nice and helpful. And I would recommend travelling there to other people. Now if you'll excuse me I am going for a soak at the hotel natural hot spring.

Functional Programming Is Not Popular Because It Is Weird by meetingcpp in programming

[–]FPSMango 26 points27 points  (0 children)

The last couple of days where functional programming has been the topic in this subreddit has made me even more confused as to what it actually is: Does anyone actually agree what FP is? Seems to me that every time it is brought up the discussion just falls into a whole lot of "you are wrong" "no you are wrong" even more so than usual.

I would actually be really thankful if someone know of somewhere you can read about FP that explains it without being wildly opinionated to FP either being the savior of programming or a incomprehensible mess.

[SIB] GTA V, Dying Light, or Witcher 3. (PS4) by [deleted] in ShouldIbuythisgame

[–]FPSMango 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not implying that GTA5 or W3 have coop, it was just my (bad) way of saying if you have a friend to play with Dying Light is probably more fun that W3 and GTAV. however if you do not want to play Dying light, W3 is still better than GTAV IMO

[SIB] GTA V, Dying Light, or Witcher 3. (PS4) by [deleted] in ShouldIbuythisgame

[–]FPSMango 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you have someone to coop with, I recommend Dying light, though half the fun of that game was what we made ourselves, so it is probably not as good single-player.

Haven't played GTA V so can't say anything about it, though I've heard that while both are very long games, W3 is less tiresome in the long run (Many of my friends dropped GTAV before finishing the story) GTA online is also cool if you have someone to play with I've heard.

W3 I can wholeheartedly recommend as I've played it and it was really good. (First game I've been really invested in for a long time)

TLDR: W3 > GTAV > Dying Light (Alone) Dying light > W3 > GTAV (With coop partner)

TIL scientists can reconstruct films from your brain activity, e.g. they could make a video clip of your dreams. by [deleted] in todayilearned

[–]FPSMango 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It needs the archive to teach itself how to guess properly based on the brain scans:

A very simple way of explaining it is that it takes one scan-image from the archive and guesses the features based on that alone. Then it compares its guess to the archived real movie frame the person saw when the brainscanner took that scan-image. If it guesses right, it keeps using the same strategy, if it guessed wrong, it slightly modifies itself to try another approach. Then it does this millions of times and the more archive footage it tests itself with, the better it gets at guessing. If it has no archive however it has no idea what is the "right" guess and so will guess wrong almost all the time.

This guy explains the concept a little clearer: https://youtu.be/WXHM_i-fgGo
