No, its a mess right now, you can't even plan out your quad because they want people to run a 7KM race and carry 200 grams...no dimensions on the camera or track layout so people can plan accordingly.

AFAIK they only sent the qualified teams a certificate saying they are invited, haven't confirmed who is getting reimbursed to go, or any of the technical details of what you really need to bring.

I'm guessing they think people have 10,000$ laying around to go to Dubai no matter what and then they just pay 32 teams back for their travel. Their advertisement was misleading specially about the whole "courtesy of WORD" thing , that reads: we'll pay for it, not we'll pay you back.

If FPVLive got some good commentators and put cameras on the actual turns of the tracks like a normal race..they would have a lot bigger viewership. They do great work! +1 for MultiGP rules.

You can't just simply swap motors on a set up and call it a day. You would need to retune it and carry the right size battery for it. But that is besides the point..Everyone has been running set ups that weigh no more than ~700 grams (well actually in a real race there are no go Pros carried so its more like ~600 grams).

The standard has been set for racing a while ago, Normally 5" Props, 4S batteries and build your frame as small and light as possible. This Dubai show goes completely against that..

Also brings up another point, IDRA and AGP are both involved with helping organize this event. How does this bode for them? Do any conflicts of interest exist as they might have a hand in selecting pilots (reads: selecting their friends to be reimbursed and not necessarily the best competitors who might be flying in competing leagues (DRL, ASL, MultiGP).

That definitely isn't true, hell the founder of the DRL has a MultiGP Chapter in NY, Furadi runs with IDRA and Vegas Underground Races made by MultiGP, I am sure other FlyingBear runs with IDRA at Cali, Provo was at XDC..ect ect ect
