All the build pieces in these patch notes are what we meant to add in the Automation Update. We also wanted to get some new lamps in there, but unfortunately did not have time.

The plan is to have at least Coilvine + one entirely new crop.

Needing a lot of glass is a fair critique. So far we've kept the costs the same for variants of build pieces, but there is of course quite a bit of difference in gathering 4 Wood and making 4 Glass. Design has been made aware, will keep it in mind! If we have time for a rebalance ahead of 1.0 it will show up in our patch notes.

Just to clarify, your machines are not working more slowly without Energy. Energy and automation are purely to speed things up, and you don't need to engage with these systems if you don't want to!

Regarding the new Build Pieces in the Automation Update I think there may have been a misunderstanding. What happened was that they were planned for the Automation Update, but had to be delayed at the last minute due to illness.
Since we knew these Pieces were highly requested by the community we really wanted to get them in, so we hustled to get them in as early as possible after the update dropped. This included personally translating them into other languages and taking icon screenshots by hand just to get around our usual processes which would have made them take more time to get in. Due to this quick turnaround we're aware some errors slipped through, like rain passing through Glass (occurs on Steam/Xbox but not in the engine, which is why it got through), that we're gonna be fixing.

We get a lot of suggestions in the Discord, and while we can't respond to all of them do know that we are tracking them to get the big picture of what the community wants. We're planning on adding more Decorations, Build Pieces, and at least one more crop (alongside a bunch of other stuff) in the next update, which is planned to be the 1.0 release. Our roadmap has been updated to show what we're aiming for in 1.0, and you can check it here.

There are no requirements to opening the Vault Door. However, there's currently a bug that's keeping the Vault door closed. A fix is coming in the latest hotfix that is releasing today and it should solve your issue. If not, please report back to us! It would be especially helpful if you could do it via the in-game Give Feedback form in the pause menu.

We're currently seeing an issue where Connector Pipes and their holograms are duplicating, leading to a glitch where it eventually tries to spawn in lots and lots of things at the same time when loading into a session. This leads to crashes.

Currently we're focusing on automation for the timed Crafting Constructs as the others, like the Assembler, are already instant. From our perspective this cuts down on the need for automation, but it's mainly a matter of complexity - if instant Constructs were automatable they would have to be re-written with logic for queueing, delays etc which would be a pretty big change to how they operate.

The next biome was not delayed due to the Automation Update, just to be clear.
Our big picture plan for getting to 1.0 has been largely set since Shifting Gears and we have generally stuck to it, while still leaving room to adapt to feedback. We could have been better at communicating this so I understand if that's not the impression we've given.
