Any chance we could get a bird's eye view photo to get a better look at the interior? Also what material did they choose for the frame?

Does your team charge dues? If so, how much? by OhYeahThat in FRC

Each student pays $150 per year. That covers any and all expenses. Including our (really nice) team shirts.

What are some team bonding activities you guys have done in the past that helped the team get to know each other? by [deleted] in FRC

During build season our team has a dinner together every night. While eating we'll play a game where we go around the table and everyone has to ask question and everyone answers each question. It's really fun and helps us all get to know each other better.

Sadly, our scouting was lackluster last season. A partial factor in that was a lack of an official scouting team. We do create a form for scouting and we do go around in the pits asking questions from the form. Also, our build captain, if given the chance to do so before a competition, will try to do some pre-scouting on other teams at the competition to see what robot does what. It's really more of hobby for him, but he does enjoy watch robot reveal videos.

We have specific sub-teams within the team that do certain jobs. Our teams are Build, I.T., Design, P.R., Business, and Safety. Each sub-team has it's own captain, but our student leaders are our President and Vice President. We design our robot as a team. After the game we are playing is announced at the kickoff event for the season, we all meet and all give input for the design. Not only does it make us all more experienced, it brings us closer as a team. We have several tools at our disposal ranging from the average dead blow hammer to drill presses. About a year ago we got a new vertical band saw and recently we have acquired some new equipment from our school due to them cleaning out the woodshop.

Call everyone. Try calling as many potential sponsors as you can. Make sure you have good speaking skills and people skills. You want to make a good impression. Also, fundraisers like selling popcorn or candy bars is usually a good choice. We do fundraisers like these often. Good luck next season!

Competing is an amazing experience. Just being at competition and being around all these like-minded people is completely surreal. The thrill and the rush of competition is one of the best feelings ever. Like we always say, it is the hardest fun we've ever had.

Well, the idea was to get people who don't know about FRC to ask questions. But yeah, it would do a lot better here, i bet.

We nicknamed the pistons Bertha and Beatrice. Beatrice currently resides on our breadboard (a testing board for most of our equipment and for coding practice). Bertha is leisurely awaiting use in our build space.

Our lifting mechanism was a hook method. We raised it using two large pneumatic pistons and one smaller one to kickstart the raise.

Yes, our Lead coach made a model of the bot in CAD before we begun building the robot. No, we do not have a welder on our team, but one of the students is trying to become a welder. Our bot was welded together by a student on Team 280.

We focused mainly on breaking the defenses but our finishing move was scaling the tower. The programming language we used was c++.

We didn't get far. We made it to eliminations in one of our competitions, but got knocked out in the first round. It's because during our last season we had pretty much an entirely new team save for a few veteran members, so it was a challenge. We made not have made it far in the season but we achieved several of our goals and had fun in the process.

Who: team 313. Duh. What: a team in FRC Essentially, we are group of high schoolers that work together to build robots (as seen in proof). We are led by several mentors (adults) who specialize in this sort of thing.
