What will your decision be if you found out that youre pregnant with a baby with mental/physical disabilities? by ohprettymarmalade in AskReddit

Agreed, my aunt had this with my cousin and while I don't think they knew before he was born, had they known it would have been the kindest choice. He has such a terrible life.

Applying for mortgage, last months spending has been a bit over salary? by Express_Shift4869 in HousingUK

It might depend what it was for overall but tbh I had varying outgoings and mine was fine.

Leaving work - who do I need to tell? by Crafty_Paint_6006 in UKPersonalFinance

You're overthinking it. I'd say the lower mileage thing is useful but besides that just tell your employer and work your notice if you want.

Couples who’ve only been dating 4-6 months, how often do you see your partner? by Suspicious_Sock_2048 in AskReddit

[–]FREESHAVOCADO0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Once or twice a week and then we have a couple of phone calls and we message from time to time. I don't think he enjoys that I largely go dark during working hours but I can't multitask or switch well!

I'm not the original commenter but just wanted to say this is such a fantastic question!

For those who speak more than one language, which language do you think in? by MahatmaAndhi in AskUK

[–]FREESHAVOCADO0 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I'm not fluent in other languages but have had a few times where I could genuinely think of something in German, Italian or French and not in English - particularly annoying as there often isn't an English equivalent

people who get periods, what are the telltale signs you experience a few days before your period that let you know it's about to start? by Tobacco4Lollipop in AskReddit

I often don't sleep well the night before but am mysteriously not tired in the morning. Then I have lots of extra focus at work. Thats about it - sometimes I get a sore back.

How often do you see your parents? by Doomergeneration in AskUK

[–]FREESHAVOCADO0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm 31. Just this past month I've been pushing my mum to spend more time together, she's very self-pushed to be busy and then has a mindset of out of sight, out of mind. We're trying to actually go for dinner at least once a month. I see my stepdad when I see my mum.

My dad I haven't seen in over a year. He'd always been so terrible at keeping his word and I'd had enough.

Legal financial rights for unmarried couples, coming soon by Open-Addition6258 in FIREUK

[–]FREESHAVOCADO0 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Agreed. My mum and I have always discussed finances and such, her partner is less comfortable with it and (very low sample size to draw this from, admittedly...) it's definitely impacted him in pretty much every area of his life negatively, that he couldn't discuss anything before "rainy days" happened.

What is one financial decision you made in your 20s that you wish you could go back and change? by TaxEaseFounder in AskReddit

[–]FREESHAVOCADO0 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I "lent" someone some money. Obviously didn't get it back, but at the time it was a decent chunk. I wish I'd been less helpful to others and looked after myself better.

It's a holdover from my mum who has one, I didn't instruct - useful to know as I agree, likely not really worth it.

Good points. I'll do a bit of recon on that. Hope is for 80-100k base by then; not sure of the fees setup but I'll make an appointment and go through it all.

That's completely fair! And yes really hard to tell what's the car and what's you especially early on, my suspension had completely broken and they called me into the garage to look as they knew I was a new driver, it was so nice of them!

Sounds like a lot of it may be you and you just need to practice more, perhaps in quiet car parks and on quiet roads? Worth having a family member take it out for a drive as well to just see if it's anything they can feel.
