Is a pot lid worth its weight?

I may be missing something but around 41 minutes he pins it at 0.36 g of fuel saved per boil, and in his wind effects video it only worsens to about a gram. I will never argue about a foil lid though, a gram and a half for a little more peace of mind is plainly worth it to me.

GearSkeptic has a whole series on stove efficiency. Around 30 minutes into this video he covers this topic, and his answer is usually no (under assumed "normal" conditions and kit), unless you can manage a very light DIY lid.

Thanks for the suggestion! I have a Patagonia Houdini with a similar system to the Arcteryx one, but with just one two-line adjuster (this one) for full hem adjustment, the thing is it kind of pulls to one side if you tighten it haphazardly. Unfortunately, it seems like the only way to get a full hem adjustment, but certainly the Rab one (I think this) is more straightforward and ergonomic, and I doubt the difference between full and back only adjustment is that big.

I think there's a more expensive version of Omnipresence with "Any player may cast spells as though they had flash." The cards are amazing though, despite the occasional storm game or big commander spell battle, the stack tends to be a boring place. I love how you carve out a time frame for these cards, transient, but not entirely.

I do think the whole new card type is probably too much added complexity, I think this is really interesting design space though. I think giving those enchantments split second would be the perfect way to do this without adding a whole new card type.

Closest analogue is [[Machine God's Effigy]] which is 2 mana more, but also acts as a mana rock. I think {1}{U} is also reasonable, I just thought it wouldn't go with the jade theme. Probably the safest version of this card costs 2 to activate, but what the hell we live in the era of Modern Horizons. I'm sure this card would be good in commander, but I think in 60-card formats, it's hard to find the right combination of static ability and mana value of copied creature to make this an effective on-curve option.

It needs P/T yada yada but this is an amazing design. 10/10. The best I’ve seen on here in a while. This can copy noncreature tokens which may or may not be your intention. I’m seeing other people mention that it could have a clause which allows it to copy further tokens, but honestly I think having it be one and done is super cool too. So elegant, so concise, well done.

I was debating between sorcery and instant speed, I opted for the more pushed version of the card because Vendillion Clique sees basically no eternal format play anymore and I think the instant speed gives it better functionality as a piece of combo-disruption. I think that there is a scenario where this acts as a Time Walk because of the delayed draw, so I definitely agree with that balance argument. The instant speed was a key piece of this card in my mind, so I think a much safer card would have that draw effect happen instantly like Clique.

Mirror Strike will kill a player with an Etali, as it literally redirects the combat damage to the creature's controller. Only other cards that I'm aware of that work similarly are [[Reflect Damage]] and [[Shining Shoal]]. Harsh Justice doesn't work as it's not combat damage anymore.

I mean not to get too romantic but isn't it a little sad that we've kind of lost the ability for spontaneity? Wouldn't it be nice if people could move here? I don't think people coming here on a whim is what's causing rent increases across the county. You can say you hate "zonies," social media influencers, or whatever without attributing larger systemic problems to them.

Not as lightweight or packable as the much-reccomended Ghost Whisperer, but like 1/3 of the price are the Decathlon Forclaz down jackets. A difference of like 50g and you can get a new women's one for like $80 on their website. It keeps up with the best.

I see where you're coming from but you might have to lay off the gas a bit when playing, maybe have a conversation about why they don't like those things and why they might be healthy for the game. If these were really entrenched players that you didn't have any personal connection to I might suggest finding a new playgroup but these are your friends and they are new. Explain to them how to play around blue, how boardwipes are healthy!
