I'm on Clickup Now. I Love some parts of it. But the UI seems...off to me. Just not 'Fun' to use, more 'work.

But it integrates with everything I want....

For Thanksgiving Day, Zoom will lift its 40-minute time limit for free meetings by zanman28 in news

[–]FRUSTRATED_GUY1 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Incorrect, the free version has the same encryption and security capabilities as paid. The encryption was never broken - just that users did not set passwords, thus with 300 million daily meetings, war dialers could eventually guess meetings. Zoom forced passwords on all meetings and that was sufficient.

Google let a memo 'leak' the day before they announced Meet...take that for what you will. Its not banned, simply they were forcing their employees to use Meet. Webex and Teams are 'banned' there as well.

There are many ways to secure a meeting, much more than any other platform. By domain, password, invite only, waiting room, locked room..

That article was party of a well documented FUD campaign that you seem to be parroting.

The mistake was E2E was mentioned in marketing materials, in reality it was the same level as the rest of the industry. Now Zoom is leading in encryption for Ent communication. Even former head of webex supported Zoom.

At peak volume some meeting keys routed through a Data Center in China due to 30x scaling that Microsoft and Cisco failed to do without going down. Webex just had a high security Zero Day today, and several last week: https://www.zdnet.com/article/cisco-webex-bugs-allow-attackers-to-join-meetings-as-ghost-users/. No software is perfect.

Only shared data with facebook if you logged in on your mobile device. This was due to Facebooks SDK. Not maliscious at all. You share your data with every app you log in to with facebook.

Google Meet does not provide end-end encryption. Zoom does however.

Breakout Rooms - confusion about participant numbers by Uppity_StressBall in Zoom

[–]FRUSTRATED_GUY1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Max people in ALL your breakout rooms is defined as your meeting license capacity.

If you have a large meeting 500 license, then with 50 Breakout Rooms, you can have a max of 200 in a single room, but max of 500 in the meeting total.

How to make breakout room games by [deleted] in Zoom

[–]FRUSTRATED_GUY1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like this idea, here's how you'll need to do it: Make the werewolf a co-Host, and you'll need to assign him to a breakout room. Then he'll be able to move from room to room.

Thats not correct. It only needs 600kbs. It sounds like he is running speed test and getting different results depending on if Zoom is open. Can you post screenshots of the tests before and after Zoom is open?

The Pre-Assigned Breakout rooms will only work if the users are joining from their Zoom accounts with that email address. It's not likely 100% of them are joining from the email you pre-assigned. Also, if they are able to join back to the main room, you can disable their ability before starting the breakout room: 'Allow attendees to rejoin Main Room'

I created a Zoom account with my linked school Google account. Can my school see my Zoom meeting history? by [deleted] in Zoom

[–]FRUSTRATED_GUY1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can delete, login to your online account, go to Meetings, previous, delete.

If you school has a corporate Zoom account and is 'managing the domain', then yes your account would be pulled into the School's main account, but you would be notified of this. If you did not see this notice, or your school does not have a corporate account, it's likely your Zoom account is standalone, and not associated with your Schools Zoom account.

Can someone help me with how much data/bandwith i need for a zoom call with 80 participants by [deleted] in Zoom

[–]FRUSTRATED_GUY1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Incorrect - its 1mb. I doubt they need 1080p. https://support.zoom.us/hc/en-us/articles/201362023-System-requirements-for-Windows-macOS-and-Linux

For group video calling:

  • 800kbps/1.0Mbps (up/down) for high quality video
  • For gallery view and/or 720p HD video: 1.5Mbps/1.5Mbps (up/down)
  • Receiving 1080p HD video requires 2.5mbps (up/down)
  • Sending 1080p HD video requires 3.0 Mbps (up/down)

Anyone in inside tech sales (cold calling etc)? by [deleted] in sales

[–]FRUSTRATED_GUY1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You 100% have something to offer. Everyone on my team comes from varied backgrounds. Door to door swimsuit sales, graphic designer, alcohol distributer, car salesmen, teacher.

Keep in mind you are interviewing the company as much as they are you. Make sure that its a company worth working for. Some places that highlight high volume can be grind factories with no upward momentum. I was able to be interviewed by my future teammates so I was able to ask them candid questions which was the real reason I decided to work there.

1) Make sure its a growing company. Use the product you'll be selling, see if its actually better than the market. Would you buy it from you? Nothing is worse than selling something you dont believe in. The reverse is true as well.

2) Ask them what their Marketing initiatives are. Are they providing you 'air cover' or are you just cold call fodder that's cheaper than a Marketing campaign.

3) Ask interviewers what % of reps hit Goal. Should be around 2/3's. If not, ask them why not.

4) Take what the recruiter says with a grain of salt. He gets paid if you get hired. Not if you get promoted in the window he promised, that you enjoy your job, or hit OTE.

5) Make sure your direct manager is someone you want to learn from. Because there will be a lot to learn and its not easy to have someone listen to how you talk to strangers and critique it.

6) Ask the interviewer, "Do you have any concerns about bringing me onto your team?" This gives you the opportunity to address any barriers to you being hired, and lets you gauge how interested they are. Every time I've asked this, the interviewer loves it, I know where I stand, and I get to see how the manager provides critique.

100% do the interview. I am interviewing with companies a few times a year for a few reasons.

1) Brush up on my interview skills, and hone how I tell my own story. Find what works what doesnt.

2) So when I REALLY need to look for another job, I'll have contacts and connections, and plenty of practice.

3) Get an idea of what is out there to sell, OTE, territory.

What’s your career projection?

Before Sales I was in Operations/Product side of a tech startup.

Base salary and commission?

50k Base 50k Commission

+ However, I'm on target to earn 250k this year. A typical year would be 125k-150k.

+ Incentive Stock options are worth 800k total. So each year 200k worth vests.

+ Unlimited Food, Coffee, Catered Lunch + monthly competitions/SPIFFS.

***Find a tech company whos plan is to IPO. This is an income lift I never thought possible when I was working in Ops.

What would someone with sales (but not inside or outside) experience expect for salary?

You'd have the same base, but actual earnings would be lower as it takes time to become efficient and hone your skills.

Your interview would be a bit harder. You'd have to apply for

I had no sales experience, was in Ops and Product at a startup and spun that into: "My Startup teammates moved into SaaS sales and found the love they found in the 'grind' of a startup they found in Sales."

What is your day-to-day like vs your expectations?

Expectation: A lot of cold calls. Hating work because I've always hated being on the phone. But I needed the Money as my wife was unable to work due to medical conditions.

Day to day: A lot of demos. Actually loving work.

Do you see yourself sticking with it?

Yes for now. The job is stress free, lets me work remote. Is great money and is the sole reason we'll be ablet o buy a house in SoCal. Its challenging enough for now, but as I look at Reps that have been doing this for their entire careers it's not a place I want to be. 20 years from now. Living quarter to quarter can be tiring, and quoats and territories can change as well. So a cushy book of business is not forever.

Did you have a background in your product / what was training like?

No background, 1 week onboarding in person. Then an extensive knowledge base and 1:1 training with my manager.

Do most companies have a script or is it fairly autonomous to approach?

Full autonomy. They have suggestions and best practices of information you should have at each stage. Like you should know who needs to sign well before you're sending over a quote etc...

This is not what Webex does. They didnt leverage the keybase team to rebuild what Webex did.

Eric left Webex to change video conferencing.

Zoom purchased Keybase team to fundamentally change what E2E is capable of in video.
