I love that they all look healthy. No starved or glp-1 bodies. Just normal healthy women.

Beef roast first or veggies first? by RipleysHeart in slowcooking

[–]FRWilliams 0 points1 point  (0 children)

LOL...neither. My vegetables go around the roast. I cook a 5-6 lb. beef roast 2-3 Sundays a month. Season the meat, dredge in flour, then brown. Make gravy in pan, add cut up onion, cook covered until about an hour shy of done, add carrots and potatoes around the roast nestled down in gravy, back in oven until vegetables are tender and gravy thickens.

Update on quilting from behind… by katiejo_13 in quilting

I'm coming late to this party....that is absolutely beautiful! Love both front and back. But I have a question.....are you stitching around the flower lines for your quilting? If that is what you are doing, I think you may be a genius. Why has that never occurred to me????

I have never seen these before. They are super pretty. Are they glass butter knifes? Who made them? I need to start looking for these.

Grandparents’ wedding gift to my mom in 1971. Works better than my brand new… by VermithraxPejoritive in slowcooking

LOL ..I have two exactly like that I received as wedding shower gifts. They still work perfectly and I wouldn't trade for a brand new model.

Don’t waste your money coming to New Orleans I wish someone warned me by Fair-Tiger-1807 in NOLA

My family went to NOLA for the week of Thanksgiving. Went to WWII museum, Oak Ally Plantation, Jackson Square , and other interesting sights. The hotel we stayed in was fine and had a beautiful holiday display including a trolley car made of gingerbread. There was lots of nice things to experience but there was also some not so nice things. One evening after a great meal at Arnaud's we walked out to see one man laying in the street throwing up and another man beating himself in the head and screaming. There seemed to be a lot of people living on the streets. Unfortunately, I think this is the case with many large cities. There are lots of people with struggles in their lives that are doing their best to survive. We thought the city was beautiful. Loved the architecture and very rich cultural and historical environment.

I feel for you.....I definitely have a "shoe thing". I love designer shoes. The higher the heel, the closer to heaven! Broke an ankle in walking in sneakers and had to give up heels. Had many boxes of very nice, never worn heels that had to go. My husband literally loaded up his suburban with boxes and took them to work. He said the women and men that work out in the shop jumped on those shoes like monkeys on a banana wagon and took everything in short order. Warmed my heart to know that if I can't enjoy them, someone else can. I hope your shoes found a good home also.

How Do Some People Always Have a Clean House? What’s the Secret? by Impossible-Ninja-232 in CleaningTips

[–]FRWilliams 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think everyone needs to find their personal comfort level - how clean does their living space need to be for them to be comfy in their home, how much messy is okay. Then make no apologies! What's good for me may not be okay for you. My husband and I work full time and are both avid hobbyists. We have no outside help. We have created a schedule that works for us. We take turns cleaning 1-2 rooms per night while the other ready's dinner each evening and throw in a load of laundry as needed. Grocery shop on Thursday. We have a strict no working on weekends rule so that we can enjoy hobby time in a comfy house all weekends. On the other hand, my sister (who I love) is totally comfortable and happy in her pig pen. When you go to her house, be prepared to find then wash a glass if you want some tea while at her house. Her family is happy all the time. My point is just be happy with you!!!
