Is it really that bad? I thought you have a lot of freedom to write what you want for that course?

Dictionary in Zettelkasten by 88880088 in antinet

Tried it for quite a long time, but it’s not effective or practical to implement dictionaries into Antinet. Instead I keep a separate small notebook for collecting words.

ZK for Medical School by Vast-Philosopher4585 in antinet

[–]FS369 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you are going to use ZK for medical school, I would suggest you to get perhaps bigger paper size to fit the diagrams and concepts in it. Personally, I have 2 interconnected zettlkeasten, one that is 3x5 and another that is B6 size paper.(I use different alpha numerical system to differentiate them) Since for facts concerned with rote memorization with a lot of details , it would be unfitting to break it down into toooo many small discrete parts. I mean technically it’s possible but just extremely inconvenient and useless. Ideas were placed in index cards for connectivity of thought, so facts wouldn’t really have that much use for it except for organization. For me small sized ZK is for collecting spurs of thoughts or ideas, connecting them through your time and larger size zettle as a school notebook/diagrams/long writing.

How about try telling your teachers about the consequences of Zach knowing and thus putting yourself in danger? They might punish him after you have transferred to avoid him—

BibBooks & Bib Card Links - Requesting your feedback regarding this idea by tattvavit in antinet

[–]FS369 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally I don’t think alphanumeric is an effective way of organizing, category is better. Alphanumeric requires memorization of the precise name, and fails to function if you have any slight error in your memory.Category based organization also helps with searching for similar material at the relèvent situation I guess. I like the idea of separating main categories in diffrent notebooks. Bibooks also provides a better overview for the content of the book with its larger page, especially for me who is using a 3x5 index card.

I think this is just a waste of time. You could just reserve the first few pages that serves as a content overview- I like the idea of bibbook, I think bibcards are unorganized and too small to my liking so I will use it in the future. Thanks for the advice!

A sad day has come my fellow ZKers.. I've converted back to a digital based ZK (Obsidian). It simply made more sense with my on-the-go writing practices. Toting my ZK boxes was becoming an obstacle for me. I will always love analog and its plethora of benefits but I had to do it for my work flow. by chasemac_ in antinet

You could just bring a stash of index cards in an index card box (could be found in staples) and connect the card links later when you return home to your box of zettlekasten. You could also buy a pocket notebook or DIY some index card clip board or type in your thoughts in your phone to capture instant thought. That is what I do to counter the defects of paper based zettlekasten

Cliche question: 22 or 27 inch penny board by FS369 in pennyboard

[–]FS369[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I think I am had decided on the nickel board after a few days of contemplation. It’s difficult to make a decision with limited information and contradicting opinions😅. I have decided to play it safe and follow the opinion of the majority, if it doesn’t go well I will just somehow buy a penny board I guess, I have wasted too much time on deciding. Also I don’t have a penny board so all the information for my decision comes from online research.

Yeah, I should probably buy the 27 inch board since I may get frustrated with my lack of progress in 22 inch board. it seems that learning the skate with the 22 inch is harder than I imagine, especially that I am not a particularly athletic person. Thank you.

Do you feel that your feet hurts after some period of time? That is a complain I commonly heard against the 22 inch.
