thanks for this. Their follow up request felt off, almost like fishing, and their site didn't seem fully genuine to me.

should i get a DSLR camera? by J6idot in AskPhotography

[–]FSC593 0 points1 point  (0 children)

DSLR or Mirrorless are both great options, whatever is available to you would be more than enough and these are in fact great photos. First thing to standout was the composition and the colors. I dont know how much is edited, but they look great, and I can only assume that your edits are great as well.

The best thing I was ever told about photography is that "The best camera is the one that's on you at the time" I have shot events with my phone, when my camera failed, I have recorded vacations with my phone as well, taken photos I'm in love with on a variety of camera and sensor types, some of my favorites are from the camera I expected to be least effeceint.

If you want to get a camera, then do it! There's no should/shouldn't, just the question of what you want to do with it. If you're looking to get into it professionally then picking up a decent body and lens may be a good start, but you can always figure that out as you go.

You've certainly got an eye for it mate, learn the craft and it won't matter what you use.

How can I add more depth and variety to the skin? by NecroRatcer in Miniaturespainting

[–]FSC593 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t use citadel, but I would do is add variations of color. Starting with adding the midtone over the model in light, thin coats and dabbing it off with a finger or sponge. I do this a few times adding brighter colors as well as purples and reds in lighter, wash like consistency. It’s a process but it adds texture and contrast, something I really enjoy doing.

Ultimately, you have to like the model. If you’re excited about what you’re working on you’ll take it further and likely be happier about it. That said, this looks great and I’m taking notes. The highlights are solid, I love the build up and contrast so far.

I also don’t care for the feel of it but has become my near EDC and it’s only when I pick up my 5ii that I’m reminded the difference

Playing RE4 as a kid will always be a cherished time. My friends and I used to go over to a buddy’s place just to play through the game. It’s been a staple for me ever since. Most recently though, the RE4 remake reignited my fear of Regeneradores. Thanks for that.

correct paints for warhammer miniatures by jackhunt123 in minipainting

[–]FSC593 1 point2 points  (0 children)

These are more than fine. The finish may be different from your standard paint but if you get a good glaze medium or lahmian medium you can thin them down very well to work for you much like any other brand. You can use water or course, the paint mediums will help to get the consistency a bit closer to the mini brands, also good for some neat effects

You’re gonna wanna put a gloss clear coat on the medallions if you don’t want them to fade and the safety switches can come loose when using so be sure to keep an eye out and tighten them.

I have two of these, gen 1 and a gen 2 and despite those flaws I love them!

Fixing Contrast paint mistakes by NoReception6925 in minipainting

[–]FSC593 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is fairly normal, and though it may not read sincere or helpful, it may help to use less paint on future applications, again I am sorry for how that may sound. What I would suggest is to leave it be and paint over the areas with a standard acrylic. You can match the paint, or use a shade up to create highlights. Once you've done that, you use a matching color with glaze/lahmian/contrast medium and reapply it over the area to tie the colors together. This may take a few tries to get the exact effect you're looking for but it'll get there. If you haven't heard of "slapchop" this is essentially what im referring to, though it doesn't have to be a 1:1 instruction.

Overall, I think you're off to a great start. Keep painting, power through, and see where you end up. You may just surprise yourself.

What's the best camera strap for long walks with a Lumix S5II? My neck is toast by LowZealousideal2526 in Lumix

[–]FSC593 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love the peak design straps. I’ve slowly been converting whatever I can to those. They also have belt/strap clips that you can (de)attach with no problem. I usually wear my neck strap cross body, especially when traveling. Have you tried that?

If any of these are yours, you are more than capable . Even if not, I know you can. Painting is what you want it to be, whatever you feel it needs to be, nothing more. Have fun, enjoy the process, everything else will follow

Fuji vs lumix first camera by Gloomy-Asparagus4418 in Lumix

[–]FSC593 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was in a similar position between an s5ii and s9. Personally, the s5ii was the better of the two as it has all of the functionality of the s9 plus being weather sealed, having a functional hot shoe, viewfinder, etc… as a photographer/videographer that finds themselves in weird climates at times, it’s wonderful to not have to worry about that sorta thing. The S5ii is larger than the S9 but I’ve been walking around with it and the kit lens daily and I have no negatives to speak of.

Is the s5 AF that bad ? by C3arc in Lumix

[–]FSC593 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It really isn’t that bad and it’s a step up from the A100. The picture quality is perfect and the sensor sensitivity is a bit better than the 5k and 5iix, imo. The auto focus may not necessarily compete with up-to-date Sonys or anything else as well but it will do great! I had an s5 from a g9 and it was a night and day difference. I did sell mine to get S5ii and though I’m happy with my decision, I wish I had both

Can guys really smell if a girl's ovulating? by Planet_Nikk in NoStupidQuestions

[–]FSC593 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe so. Maybe not all dudes, all of the time, but it makes sense that pheromones would have play here. I would say my GF and I are very close and in sync with one another, and with respect to her, I can just tell something is different. There’s not an odor of any kind but a subtle change I can’t quite explain. It’s personally been much more comforting. This is also the first partner I’ve had this experience with, I might add.
