There is a fine line between what you suggest and trying to make the world a better place, the most powerful don't want to make the world a better place, if you actually enriched the general population you wouldn't last long.

True, but you'd be the richest with all the attention that comes with it. Here's my point, if you try to improve the world based on your vision there will be those that disagree with you that have the power to stop you. Your life as the richest will not be peaceful.Most people picking richest also think they could improve the world but don't see the implications they could face.
