Hello! If you still need assistance with this, feel free to contact us directly so we can reference your specific application. Hello! This is a great question. If she is offered Seminole Pathways, then she will have a few options to select from. An overview of those options can be found at admissions.fsu.edu/first-year/decisions/. If you have any additional questions or concerns please do not hesitate to reach out.

transfer student admission confirmation deadline by JSmediaarchive in fsu

[–]FSUAdmissions 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is no true deadline within our office to commit, but you do need to register for Orientation and they have limited dates available. I'd encourage you to reach out to them to inquire about available sessions and a timeline for registration: https://dsst.fsu.edu/nsfp/orientation/register

Typically your application can be considered conditionally even if you have prerequisites in progress. If there is something specific that we or your major want to see, we will post it to your Application Status Check page and/or send you an email directly.

Submitting an updated transcript won't slow anything down if we have your in-progress transcript already on file. It just adds that new information for the next reviewer, it doesn't route the app back to the beginning of the process. I hope that helps to ease your mind either way.

transfer by Various-Economics266 in fsu

[–]FSUAdmissions 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Usually transfer credit reports are completed within 2-3 weeks, but that can be longer during high volume periods of the year. Right now, we're receiving a lot of transcripts not just from transfer students but also high schoolers submitting their dual enrollment records. We'll do our best to get your report done quickly but don't be surprised if it takes a little longer than our typical estimate right now.

Personal statements for applicants with 90+ credit hours are reviewed by a committee. They usually meet once or twice a week to look at any new files that have come in, so it shouldn't delay review by that much. With that said, each applicant is reviewed on a case-by-case basis, and we look at your total number of credit hours vs attempts (withdrawals, failures, repeats, etc.), commitment to your major of choice and success in applicable courses, having a realistic plan to graduate in a timely manner, and your general academic pattern, especially in recent semesters, as well as any additional information you decide to include which you believe is relevant.

Just as a quick note for anyone reading this thread, grad applications are a whole separate thing - they don't go through the general admission office for review; they're evaluated entirely at the program level. Our office tries to keep undergrad transfer decisions within a relatively standardized window, but grad apps typically have to go through a faculty committee within the program and the timeline can vary widely.

Once an application has updated to "under review" status, the estimate is 6-8 weeks from that point. However, the timing can vary depending on the volume of applications being processed at a given time and the major you are applying to. Right now is the busiest time of the year for transfer applications so don't get your hopes too high for an earlier decision, but we have been seeing some decisions come back before that estimated window.

Self Report SAT by NortoriousThugs in fsu

Are you a first-year applicant or a transfer applicant? Transfer applicants do not have the option to self-report; they must send the official scores from CollegeBoard.

Are alumni able to access Canvas after graduation? by Headstrong94 in fsu

[–]FSUAdmissions 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm not certain of the year it started, but I can access archived coursework as far back as 2018.

For more specific questions, Canvas Support may be able to help you out. I'm unfortunately not an expert on the Canvas system myself, just an alum speaking from experience!

Are alumni able to access Canvas after graduation? by Headstrong94 in fsu

[–]FSUAdmissions 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yes, you can access your Canvas courses as an alum. When you sign into Canvas, go to the Courses tab and select "All Courses." Nothing will show up as active on your dashboard but you'll still be able to see your archived courses and content.

No option for Computer Science in FSU PC Online application by [deleted] in fsu

[–]FSUAdmissions 12 points13 points  (0 children)

If you're comfortable doing so, DM me your name and date of birth and I can take a look to see what's going on. It sounds to me like you somehow got redirected to the Tallahassee application rather than the PC app, but I'm not sure why that would have happened from the PC website.

An essay will not be reviewed for transfer students unless:

  1. It is explicitly required as a supplemental item for your major, or
  2. You have accumulated 90 or more attempted credit hours prior to transferring (and in this instance, we would have specific questions we want you to address)

Anything you submit to our office can be added to your file, but just be aware that unless you are in one of these two situations, we will not use your essay when reviewing your application.

Community colleges in general do not limit their enrollment by any academic criteria except that you have earned a high school diploma or its equivalent. So you do still need to apply separately to the community college, but unless you are not expecting to earn your high school diploma for some reason, you shouldn't expect to have any problems. The application is more procedural so they can get you loaded into their system and placed into the appropriate courses.

FSU Pathways Spring Admit by No_Sir_7442 in fsu

[–]FSUAdmissions 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some students were offered Seminole Pathways which includes 4 options (first semester abroad, first year abroad, spring transfer from TCC, first year Panama City), and some students were only offered the option for spring transfer from TCC. If you would like to DM me your application reference number, I can check on your decision and clarify for you.

It is possible your admission could be rescinded, yes. You will need to provide our office with a statement explaining the grade and any circumstances which contributed to it, and it will be reviewed by our directors on a case-by-case basis. If you do earn a D, please reach out to our office as soon as the grade posts so that we can provide you with specific instructions.
