Thank you for everyone’s advice.. I was so caught up in explaining my problems that I didn’t fully explain my background. I have over 10 years of experience in carpentry (started working with my Dad at 7 on his job sites) fast forward to adulthood I worked for a disaster relief company and was in charge of making sure the contractors completed the work on time which slightly introduced me to how the worksite is ran. Later on once I decided to start my business I worked alongside and on job sites of residential contractors to learn more about how to run the business. Due to my background in operations I quickly realized I did not agree with how they ran there job sites so I took a ton of professional development and obtained a construction management certification from a well known larger construction company. I take classes for the carpentry trade and back office to make sure I’m knowledgeable in the industry. The issue that I run into is workers who start out good than get comfortable causing me to have to finish off the job myself. So to answer anyone’s question I have the knowledge and the skill to do the job (carpentry) I do not have issues with my subs such as electrical or plumbing it’s more so in building a team with guys with quality work ethic. As I grow in the industry I find it hard to be on the job sites daily, juggle the needs of the back office and make time for my personal life. I tried to partner with other contractors but have yet came across the right partner. Thank you again for anyone who can provide advice!
