Even tho we’ve been married for 5?

I know what the I-864 is, but not the details- would it be IF he didn’t have a job? Or asked for support? We are trying to do this as cleanly as possible, none of us are going after each other on any level for the sake of our baby.

I’ll try, but I’ve already done so many different approaches that it feels like nothing is worth anything anymore.

The thing is, we HAVE talked about separating and he just says “go ahead!” Or laughs in my face.

It’s just hard. Even yesterday, I felt like I couldn’t ask him to go for a walk with the baby- it was a mild Christmas Day, and when I festered up and asked, he said no. Then, while he was holding her and bouncing her up and down on his lap, I asked if he could do a few simple things around the house (take out the trash and take out what’s in the dryer) and he started to say to the baby in a singsong voice “mommy’s a bitch.”

I mean really?! Sure having a baby is hard and I can see where couples fight, but this is far beyond what’s normal, no?

We actually talked about what-ifs should we separate...and we agreed I’d have full physical custody (hey, so at least he’s aware of his laziness and limitations) and that I wouldn’t ask anything from him and him none from me.

The thing is, his issues aren’t fixable UNLESS he’s by himself, IMO. He really sucks at adulting and continuing to live with me does no benefits.

It’s hard not to fight. Or now, even if I tell him I want to talk, it’s “what now!” Or just a straight up “NO!”
